Excellent rooms but ordinary restaurant

Visited on business and stayed in an excellent suite room (upgraded). The hotel decor and facilities were impressive and the front desk staff very helpful and friendly. I have knocked off a point though because of a slightly ordinary restaurant experience. It was quite late to eat, but the restaurant staff were pretty disinterested and the steak ok but nothing special. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel but staff really not friendly

Really nice hotel, service of the staff is really bad. It does not live up accor hotel service quality. The front desk does not smile and very rude. Best is that they think i dont understand chinese. The place is convenient TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Does Not match the Grand Mercure status

Location is alright if you attending Exhibition nearby, otherwise there are much better hotels in the city area. Walking to train station is a manageable 10 minutes walk. Next to a decent mall with ample restaurant and a supermarket. Service level was alright. Definitely not a Grand Mercure level. More like ibis style. Just check into the hotel yesterday for a 8 nights stay (till 21st Feb but this feedback system doesnt allowed till that day) - have to book via 3rd party as the rates is so much better than the official Accor rate! (example my 8 night stay is around RMB 8.6k while the same room is offered RMB 12k in the official Accor web, pretty weird) - informed that I have a gold status, counter staffs simply reply "oh you booked through 3rd party, so no points" - NO welcome drink - NO Welcome amenity - NO rooms available for upgrade (which i understand it is subjected to availability) but since I will be here for 8 nights, I asked whether I can be upgraded in other nights? - The response was "oh every morning you come down and ask us" - WHAT???? Cant they indicate into the system and let me know? Instead of being a begger to ask every morning? - Ask for additional cloth hangers with the chambermaid, replied was "only fixed number of hangers per room" that's it, no other intention to bring additional for me TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent room and service

We arrived early and front desk staff was excellent. They upgraded us to a suite for our two day stay, and offered us us discounts on breakfast. The suite was fantastic, large, quiet, and all the mini bar (non alcohol) was included. Absolutely great stay. Breakfast is extensive, but we did find staff was slow to clean tables after guests left. The only problem we had was that staff told us that our flight with Delta left from Terminal 2 of airport and unfortunately for us when we were dropped off at Terminal 2, we found that Delta leaves from Terminal 1. The hotel should update their airport terminal information. The area is very safe, we walked around at night, went to local restaurants. The metro station was less then 10 minute walk and very easy to navigate and inexpensive to use. I would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We had a great stay experience at here. Thanks for ur staff who name is Ivy. She helps us a lot of things when we check in. However, this is our first time staying at Grand Mercure hotel, be honest this hotel should be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. thanks for ur wonderful services. I look forward to the next trip and have the opportunity to stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
