Overpriced, hot and filthy

Jul 18th, 2019

Our room was dirty, bathroom had black mold growing on the walls. Carpets were gross and AC was not keeping room cool at all. Waited 2.5 hours for towels, we had to call three times and then go to front desk. It was discouraging because each time we were told they would be right up. If they weren’t coming we would have appreciated the heads up as we were keeping our kids up to get cleaned up for bed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

No A/C Sleepless nights

Jul 18th, 2019

I very rarely place reviews of hotels or restaurants.... I feel that the owners or managers just think “there is another hater who can never be happy” that’s not me. But I must give my observations of my recent stay at the Radisson Downtown Baltimore Hotel in Baltimore Maryland. Our check in was poor at best. Realizing our room was not ready I asked if we could store our bags and have a late lunch in the bar, this request seemed to cause a major inconvenience for the front desk individuals and she told us to check back in an hour, but no matter I let it go and went to lunch at the bar. Lunch at the bar..... this took 25 minutes to be waited on for our drink order and another 35 minutes to get our food. So having to wait to get our bill we were in the bar for about 90 minutes... Again no problem since we needed to wait for our room to get ready. So I went back to the front desk to check on our room.... only one person now behind the counter, I patiently waited my turn and it turns out our room is now ready.... but she was too busy checking in all the people to get our checked bags... I waited 30 minutes for the lady to get my bags but to no avail, so I walked out to the valets to see if they could help..... after another 30 minutes I got my bags = 1 hour. So to the room we go.... opened up the deluxe corner king room and the temperature was an easy 80 degrees with the A/C running... so I just checked it off as they just turn it on?? We changed our clothes and headed to the pool. Once at the pool there were no towels.... I asked the lifeguard where to get the towels and this very nice Turkish Exchange student (who could barely speak English.. but very nice) who was the lifeguard told me that there are all used up. No restocking! “Really” none. So we went upstairs and got some from our room which I noticed haven’t cooled off at all. But I chalk that up again for just turning it on. Back to the pool and I notice trash everywhere, old pizza boxes, trash not picked up. Wow, but OK they could have had a bad day. Once the pool was done, back to the room and now we became considered about the A/C and to the front desk we were headed to when we ran into some guest on the same floor that just came from the front desk complaining about the 80+ degree temperatures in their rooms and they were told.. “the a/c is old and it just can’t keep up” really! To say the least no one got much sleep on the 20th floor.... so I decided to get some ice from the ice machine.... Broken no ice ! Really! Well it’s time to get my boarding passes.... headed to the hotel computer to print off my pass.... printer broken and no one has the knowledge to fix it.... Really ! Bottom line..... no one of authority is taking their jobs seriously or is focused on quality. Absolutely every element of that I spoke about could have been handled.... Address the lackluster customer service Address the check in process Address the towel situation Address the Air Condition problem Address the Ice Machine issue Address the “business center printer” Most of these issues are simple issues that can be quickly addressed with proper supervision and a better attitude from staff that focuses on your valued customers. This hotel COULD be a very fine place to stay for the price. But it will never be that way until CORPORATE RADISSON gets involved to tell them to clean it up their act or take our name off the wall. I wish you the best of luck in the future... but we will never be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I am not sure where to begin on how bad this place was. I think I will just make a pros and flow of events list so the readers than see it easier but please read it all. Here we go: Pros: 1. It has a pool and it was actually nice! 2. Underground parking garage nearby (unaffiliated) 3. Accommodating staff Flow of Events: 1. Arrived with 2 adults and 2 kids they put us in a room with 1 king bed even though requested 2 doubles. Front desk attendant says yea our computers aren't always right. Room switched 2. Arrive at room 2 to the AC set to 72 degrees but actual in room is about 85 or more. Turned AC down to 60 and closed curtains due to outside temp near 100 and went out on the town. Spent the night in this room and it did not go below 80 despite having it set of 60 on high. Woke up several times drenched in sweat. Requested to be switched AGAIN the next morning. 3. Went to the "rooftop pool" between floor 1 and 2 of a 23 story hotel. No towels! Lifeguard calls in only to be told we aren't cleaning anymore today. 4. Now switched onto room 3 which was 10 floors down. Walk in and ahhhhh air conditioning (we think). Air was on 72 so we turned it down to 65 degrees. Went to the "rooftop pool" again for a bit to let the room cool down before heading to an Orioles game. We had towels this time! 5. Come back to the room and it is disgusting muggy and hot after the Orioles game. It was so muggy that even our sheets and comforter were soggy. Walking back to the hotel through a not so nice part of Baltimore after the game was quite interesting. Many homeless begging for money ( I know common in the cities), prostitutes waiting outside the hotel and trying to talk to you while walking with wife and kids, and drug deals going on outside the window. We were so tired by this time after the game and on our 3rd room switch we would just deal with it and try to sleep which didn't happen much. 6. Come morning we get the bill and it shows that we are charged for valet service, which we did not do as we parking in a garage across the street ourselves. We had enough and checked out early. In the end the manager did remove both nights as well as the valet charge which he said he has no idea how we were charged that. He took notes down and plans to follow up with us. Moral of the story: If you're into using the services of a prostitute, are a prostitute, need to purchase drugs, feel like nearly passing out of heat exhaustion due to no AC or lack of then this is the hotel for you. Otherwise seek other options immediately. If you already booked here and reading this... CANCEL NOW! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Service

Jul 17th, 2019

Centrally located and good value for money, but the staff at front desk breakfast are very slow. The service at the breakfast is almost non existent. I don’t think I would prefer to stay again in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
