at the Ramada Kazan City Center
Nov 1st, 2019
I'm an old professor from Boston with US/Russian citizenship. I was invited to give a talk at the conference in Kazan and was taken to Ramada hotel from Kazan airport by my hosts at around 3 am on Oct 21. The clerk on duty, young lady named Ilona, refused to check mi in in my reserved room despite I've shown her my both passports US and Russian International. She absolutely illegally requested a domestic Russian passport which I certainly did not have. In other words, she just pushed me, an old man, on the street in the middle of the night not even trying to resolve a problem, which actually did not exist. Fortunately, people in another hotel - Riviera - were much more understanding and check me in without any problems. Ramada should be more selective in choosing their staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not at the city centre, but excellent nevertheless.

Ramada Kazan City Centre, Kazan. Although the hotel mentions that it is in the city centre, it is a bit away, although the rest of the hotel more than makes up for the location. The rooms are HUGE and comfortable. The linen is first class, the bathrooms are also big and convenient. I must commend the hotel on its cleanliness. The internet worked very nicely. It took us 35 minutes to reach the hotel from the airport, we stayed for a night. The Kazan Kremlin is a 15 minute walk from the hotel, the Baumann street is a 10 minute walk away. There is a 24 hr convenience store right next to the hotel which was extremely helpful. The breakfast at the hotel was very good and elaborate. Even after checkout, we could use the WiFi while waiting for our taxi. The taxi ride cost us 1000 Roubles ( although I suspect we overpaid, if we had taken the hotel transfer, we may have saved some, best to check). Date of Stay 28th 29th June TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

First time my wife and I have stayed overnight at this hotel. What can I say the room we had was furnished with everything we needed for our one night stay. Bathrobes, slippers even toothbrush and toothpaste. Very very comfortable bed. Yes the paperwork is a little tiresome on arrival but you have to remember this is the way things are done in Russia. The Reception staff were most helpful, informative and obliging. We arrived at the hotel at 14:15 hours. After taking our suitcases to our room we availed ourselves of the business lunch. A fantastic four course lunch finished off with coffee all for 530 roubles each (£6). Our waitress Alena remembered my wife and I from our previous visits sometime ago for business lunch. Alena is a credit to the Ramada organisation. Her customer service is amazing and of such high quality. Morning breakfast was everything you could wish for. A buffet with a wonderful choice. Cereals, fruits, vegetables, pancakes, toast, cakes, yoghurts and freshly cooked omelettes which I would urge anyone to try. Great taste. Fresh fruit juices and as much tea and coffee as you can drink. If you get the opportunity when in Kazan you must treat yourself to a stay at this hotel. It is in my view 5 star. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
