Not bad at all

May 1st, 2019

The staff is friendly. The food in the restaurant is good. The rooms are comfy but could use a refresh. Bottom line is that it’s not fancy but it was clean and conveniently located in town. I was a little worried with the other reviews but my experience was perfectly fine. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Avoid

Outdated decades ago. Heat was up so high it was hard to sleep. Nice indoor pool but it was so cold we could hardly swim in it. I asked for a juice for my son at the free breakfeast and I was told that I would have to buy it. Toilet ran continuously. Small beds that sag towards the center. This is the first hotel I felt the need to know all emergency escape routes. I do not recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Friendly Sfaff

Everyone was so friendly at the front desk! The rooms were clean. They are offering free hot breakfast buffet for each guest staying in the hotel. Freighters Restaurant has excellent prime rib! The location is great! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hockey tournament

Absolutely horrible experience total waste of money. Will never again stay in a Ramada Inn. Checkin was a joke. People were waiting until 5pm for rooms to be ready. I specifically asked for a room with a fridge and microwave. Upon getting all our stuff up to the third floor there was no fridge or microwave. Had to go back down wait til they found us another room and move. In the meantime my husband had to fix the closet door as it was about to fall on us. Got to the 6th floor ironically enough that closet door was broke also and a horrible hazard. Room was dirty. The manager/owner was not friendly. To get into the pool that was in the basement you had to get a key from the front desk, no keys available, so had to bang on the door to get in. Couldn't even see into the pool from the outside....don't think is up to code. sauna is outside next to the mens bathroom....sorry but i wouldn't feel safe going in there. Didn't have enough help for breakfast. No drinks took forever to get water...no silverware had to go table to table to find that....no plates...had to wait for someone to come out of the kitchen....Just an absolute horrible experience, and way over charged. $313.00 for two nights is absolutely ridiculous!!! Will never refer someone there, nor will never stay in a ramada inn again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

COLD STAY IN THE SOO!

Jan 24th, 2019

Last minute trip put us in the Soo over our anniversary weekend. My wife and I quickly put together an overnight stay to visit with a good friend who was attending her son's hockey tournament in the Soo. Room availability was limited due to lateness of our arrival, so we stay downtown at the Ramada. Tired and run down appearance to guestroom. Also, "styro cups" in restaurant with china plate and normal silverware...don't know why real coffee cups were not offered. Overall waitstaff was polite and accommodating, but the overall appearance, comfort and quality of the guestroom was disappointing for the above average price we paid. Would not consider staying there again unless a major facelift was done with their guestrooms! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
