It was ok

Jun 24th, 2019

The staff were superb, the food could be better. The rooms were ok. I was told it is privately owned so they couldn't do much about it. AC never worked correctly, there were bugs constantly on the balcony we couldn't get rid of. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not up to the Wyndham standard

Jun 23rd, 2019

Wyndham didn't really do too much to improve this hotel over the years. It is very outdated and worn out. The bathroom was actually so dirty that I spent almost an hour cleaning it myself, to remove some of the mildew from the bathtub, dirt and dust from the vanity and mirror, debris on the floor, and dirt is every corner. The shower curtain was also orange at the bottom from the mildew. Surprised that they don't wash these more often, if at all. Unfortunately, housekeeping did not have an extra clean shower curtain, either. Strange! Lots of chipped or missing paint in the bathroom and around the main room. The carpet and the floor in the bedroom area were also clearly not swept or vacuumed, as there were chips, sand, food, and dirt all around. We ended up using bath towels as area rugs just to walk on the floor. The AC vents were full of dust and I had to remove them both and wash them (which would only take maintenance 5 minutes per room to do these every other month). The light fixtures were old and so the only place to plug in your phones or electronics to charge was through a tiny alarm clock...which was a perfect solution since they wish to be cheap. The room was very humid. The walls and ceilings are very thin and you can hear you neighbors. Oh, and they charge you $10/pp for a breakfast buffet. I am a Wyndham rewards member and this should have been free, as breakfast is at other chains. There is free coffee in the lobby 24hrs but it was cold every time I went. The doors to the balconies are solid metal doors, not sliding glass. It would have been nice to have a screen door of some type so that we could leave the door open during the day or night to enjoy the amazing ocean breeze, without bugs flying in. If this place wasn't ocean front, I would not have stayed the rest of the week. Definitely NOT worth the $900 I spent for 4 nights!! So, the pros: The hotel is indeed oceanfront. They accept dogs all year round on the first level only, so you will get no view or a dune view, but Fido can stay with you. There is a large outdoor bar and restaurant area. Lots of seating overlooking the ocean. Chair and umbrella rentals are available , either half a day or whole day and are charged to your room. There is easy beach access via large walkway that also includes shower area to wash off the sand. The indoor pool is big and bright and there is a hot tub as well. They host events in their large meeting rooms and they hosted 2 beach weddings while we were there. (Unfortunately, the weddings left a lot of trash and cigarette butts on the beach that were there the next morning that should have been cleaned up as to not litter the beach and pollute the ocean). The hotel collects recycling apart fromtrash on every level and in front of the hotel. There are lots of luggage carts available and 2 large elevators. The in room fridge was a decent size and they have ice machines on every level. There is lots of parking in front of the hotel. They are within walking distance of a few great restaurants. They are located near tons of shopping, attractions, and food options. There was one short statutes young man with blond/light red brown hair (think Seth Green) that brought us towels 2 days in a row and he was the friendliest employee we encountered!! Overall, I would give them another try simply because of the location and view, but would come with more cleaning supplies, a vacuum, and a mop! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Father's Day Weekend

Jun 23rd, 2019

Great place to stay. Beach front. Recommend 4th or 5th floors for best Ocean and beach views. Rooms were well appointed, clean and quiet. Beds felt new and comfortable. Pool and hot tub were well maintained. Restaurant was full service and large enough to accommodate plenty. Large deck/patio and "Tiki" bar. Chairs and beach umbrellas for rent at reasonable rates. I recommend this facility. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Standard beach hotel

Jun 22nd, 2019

It's your typical beach hotel. A little dated. There was a big party atmosphere with a lot of drunk people in the halls. A wedding was going on so there was absolutely NO parking. I really feel like this issue should be addressed given the fact that people were having to park miles away as a result. There's only one elevator for the entire hotel so you can imagine how backed up it can get. The room wasn't bad, but they could definitely be updated when they're charging $300 per night. Never Again!

Jun 17th, 2019

The room was over priced for an outdated and dirty room. The bathroom floors were sticky from the mopping and the beds/mattresses were sunken in and appeared to be very used/old. WE found numerous long black hairs on the bedding...not ours! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
