Good but not great

May 20th, 2020

The idea of the hotel location seems brilliant but it's absolutely not practical. In general Cairo is not the best place for those who like to take a walk but downtown is absolutely crazy. The only comfortable way to get out of the hotel is taking a cab. Noisy, crowded, polluted surroundings make you not want to get out of the beautiful lobby. Taking a walk to the Egyptian museum which is across the street was quite a journey. The hotel itself is cute, Nile view rooms have splendid view but unless you are lucky to stay on the upper floors, it's really loud on the balcony as there is a really large bridge in front of the hotel. Can't say the room and service were spotless but I won't complain. Fine for a short stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Basic Hotel - Not 5 Star

Apr 21st, 2020

We stayed in this hotel with a small group of 6 that were travelling together. We had three rooms. Upon arrival we were disappointed to see that the carpets were dirty, the furniture is old, the finishings are poor and it is overall in need of a serious renovation. When we asked for another room we were given ones that essentially were the same as the first. The standards are just not the same as North America. So if you are looking for an above average property you need to look for a rating of 5+ The hotel location was good - right on the Nile river and you could walk around to the Tower and some shops. Just have to be very careful with the traffic. The breakfast had quite a bit to offer each morning and the pool area was very nice to use after touring each day. However we ordered drinks by the pool one afternoon and were shocked at the cost. Not sure why we were charged such an exorbitant amount but it was certainly the last time we ordered anything from the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Garden court café:

Mar 20th, 2020

With a group of Montreal, Canada, we spent many evenings at Ramses Hilton in the first and second week of march 2020. I would like to thank Mr. Tamer Anwar, who work at the Garden Court Café as server, for his good customer service and his kindness for many meals we took during our stay. Thank you Mr. Anwar and your cook. Clermont Gignac, Montreal TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

No refund despite all flights to having been cancelled by Government of Egypt

Mar 20th, 2020

We had booked three King Guest Rooms with City View at the Hotel for 3 nights stay from April 4 to April 7, 2020 through booking.com. We were forced to cancel the booking since the Government of Egypt has banned entry of foreign nationals on account of the Corona-virus, and stopped all International flights to Egypt. as a result our airline too cancelled the flight. The Hotel had charged us the full amount for 3 rooms / 3 nights, a month after the booking. However, after the cancellation, they have refused to reimburse the amount charged to my card account. It is shameful that a chain of the likes of Hilton is making profit out of a world pandemic. All other Hotels booked in Egypt have waived the cancellation fee, despite most bookings being non-refundable, but, Hilton Ramses is obstinate and unaware of their social responsibility. We all will recommend that avoid booking at this Hotel in future like us. It is very risky. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very average

Mar 18th, 2020

As part of SOTC travel group we were put up in this hotel. Though it is touted as a star grade hotel but the amenities and service and as poor as it gets. The whisky glass in my room was cracked and it remained so even after the room service cleaned the room the next day. My friend's room did not have the wine glasses which were in our room. The furniture were stained without anyone caring to replace or even clean them. This is more like a roadside motel with a huge footfall used at a cheap rate by travel agents. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
