Never again

Dec 16th, 2019

I work for a company that has an office in Bellevue, and on a recent visit I couldn’t find a room within policy anywhere except The Red Lion. While it isn’t expensive, you certainly get what you pay for. It feels like a motel off the interstate. The entire property smelled like cigarettes even though I was in a non-smoking room. It’s rundown and I didn’t feel very safe. As I say in the title of my review, never again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beyond expectations

Sep 23rd, 2019

We were in Seattle to see a show and wanted to get a reasonably priced room for the weekend. The Red Lion was the best price but we were concerned about the star ratings and some of the reviews. Our first impression on arrival was pretty good: lots of parking, decent landscaping around a somewhat classic two story “motor inn”. Reception was quick and we were able to access our room early. The room was on the second floor and, as has been pointed out by others, there is no elevator. Not a problem for us but it took a couple of trips to get settled. Now the important stuff (at least to us): the room was spacious by today’s standards, the room was clean but without that disinfectant odour, the bed, including pillows, was comfortable, there was lots of natural light, it was quiet both day and night and the room’s temperature was comfortable and easily controlled. The location is excellent with easy access to the freeways and within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and parks including the Lake Washington waterfront. Less so important, wifi worked seamlessly and the TV worked okay, not that we watched much beyond a news report. Some bad stuff: • apparently everyone looks for a relatively inexpensive room and the hotel fills up as does the parking lot. Returning with your car late in the day it can be difficult to park. • on our first morning we went to the hotel’s restaurant and were charged $6 for coffee to take back to our room and the next day we discovered that coffee was available for free in the lobby. Our mistake but bad business for the restaurant to not question and look out for the guests’ interests. We took our meal business elsewhere after this and would be unlikely to patronize them in future. All in all we were very happy with the accommodations and will return in future. Nice Room, No Elevator

Sep 12th, 2019

Nice room but after a long day of sightseeing, no fun lugging luggage up stairs. We loved the balcony overlooking the pool. There are rental Carson the property, this may limit parking. The room had a fridge and microwave which we like when traveling. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very nice rooms but in several buildings, restaurant on property

Sep 11th, 2019

I guess I expected a red lion to be one large building. It was maybe 10 or so rooms each and the doors were on the inside of the hallway. The restaurant was in a building next to the front office. The rooms were very nice and clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is amazing but you need to see if it is included in your price or not. The shuttle service He even took us to the Safeway. The shuttle service was very good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Was a bit disappointed

Sep 3rd, 2019

We stayed here for 2 nights and was a bit disappointed knowing that it was rated as 3 star. The following are the reason for my disappointment. - The room is a bit smelly so we sprayed Febreeze to lessen the smell. - There’s no elevator - The hallway carpet hasn’t been vacuum when we arrive till we left after 2 days. (You can see how dirty it is) - Parking is not free ***We stayed on a 2 star hotel in Oregon before here and had a better experience..*** TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
