Property and staff ultra appealing.

While the property was just lovely, I found the staff--over the top wonderful. I had my dear cat of 17 years pass away while visiting Red Mountain and the staff couldn't have been more wonderful. Kara took great care in making sure I was ok; she allowed us to stay on property for a few hours beyond our check-out time so that my husband and I could re-group after receiving the devastating news. She even made sure to send us on our way w/ a thermos of water. (We were too distraught to think clearly. You need water in the desert!) So thank you to the staff and Kara, in particular, for tending to our most basic need--love and support during a time of crisis. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Location, healthy food and activities such a great property

Recommend this property highly. More activities than you have time for. Healthy menu and portion control. Located at the entrance to Snow Canyon. Never thought I would enjoy an aqua exercise class but it was fun and hard. Recommend the ebike ride up into the canyon. Staff was super helpful and overall the best on our trip. If you are considering the Zion narrows hike, make sure you know how busy it is and how much time it takes with shuttles and waits. For us, better use of time to go on other hikes. I love this resort! My friends and I had an amazing and relaxing time here. We stayed in hummingbird and had a view of the pool with the mountains behind it. We didn't end up booking the all inclusive and instead did a la carte because we were going to be at zion a lot and wouldnt make it back for meals. We ordered room service and the food is great. Don't hesitate booking here. We did the suite with two queen beds and one king bed and it was phenomenal!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great Place for Amazing Adventures!

My husband and I stayed at Red Mountain Resort September 5 – 10, 2020, a total of 5 nights. This is a beautiful and well-maintained property. We arrived only two days after the resort reopened and were impressed with how smoothly everything operated. We felt very comfortable with the protocols they have in place and had a safe vacation experience. We booked the Essential Retreat package and Desert Oasis room. We would advise being very careful in choosing the package and planning activities. We had originally booked the Zion package, but after the activities schedule was posted, we saw that it would be cheaper to book the Essential package and pay for Zion as an add-on. Our only disappointments were the room and housekeeping. The room was very basic and the location was not ideal, located at the top of a staircase with only a view of the stairs out our window that everyone could see into as they came up the stairs. Entry into the shower/tub combo was very awkward, having to step over a 2 ½ foot tall and 1 foot wide ledge. This was challenging on sore legs after days of hiking! And would be even more challenging for people with mobility issues. There was a fridge in the room, but it was empty. We had hoped water or juices would be provided. The hair dryer in the room didn’t work very well, so I would recommend bringing one from home. Otherwise, everything was clean and functional. Prior to arriving, we had read the protocols which stated that housekeeping would be available by request only and that the room would be generously stocked. This was not the case at all. Only one set of towels was provided in the room. On the second day, we requested that our room be cleaned while we were out hiking and were told that rooms could not be cleaned at all during our stay. So we asked that they bring extra towels. Again they provided only one set. The next day we again asked for extra towels and that time we were finally provided enough for the rest of our stay. By the third day, we had a large pile of used towels and our trash can was overflowing. We had to gather these up and leave them outside our room and request that they be picked up. All of this was a bit disappointing considering what we paid for the room and the fact that their protocols state otherwise. We found the dining experiences to be excellent throughout our stay. We eat very healthy at home and finding that on vacation is often a challenge, so we were very pleased with the selections here. Breakfast was our favorite, with so many great selections that it was hard to choose what to order each morning! Lunch was excellent as well, with plenty of options. The lunches packed for our day-long excursions were excellent with very generous amounts to keep us fueled throughout the day. The dinners were great, though we did find the dinner menu a bit limited and repeated some dishes for our last nights there. We were always seated at a distance from other guests, hand sanitizer was set up at the entrance of the restaurant, and masks were required until guests were seated. Dining was handled in the best possible manner under the circumstances. With the exception of the lack of housekeeping, service was great throughout the resort. Everyone was very friendly and eager to please. There were a couple of service hiccups regarding dining, but that was to be expected so soon after reopening. We used the Ivy Concierge via text several times to reserve hikes and activities and ask questions and this worked very well, always getting a response within minutes. We were impressed with the wide range of activities provided each day. There was so much to do that it was hard to decide which to choose and we wished we had time to do more. We participated in water yoga, the deep end water aerobics, and a rebounding class. We also did the desert walk and one of the explorer hikes. All of this was very enjoyable with very informative instructors and guides. The Bryce Canyon excursion is only offered on Saturdays, which was the day we arrived. We were disappointed in this, but instead booked a private guided trip for Sunday. This was quite expensive, but worth every penny! We left the resort at 7am and returned around 5pm. It was a long day, but so enjoyable. We had the greatest guide, who was very informative and knowledgeable and took many great pictures of us. We were able to explore Bryce at our own pace and have the day designed just for us. We highly recommend requesting Guiseppe as a guide when booking a private excursion. We also did the Zion excursion on Wednesday. Even though this was not a private tour, it was still a great day. There were 8 of us in the group plus two guides. We were transported in two separate vans so as not to be crowded. Guiseppe was our guide again and we had another great day with him. We left the resort at 7am and returned around 4pm. Upon check-in, we were each provided a drawstring backpack and two refillable water bottles. These were great to have for our hikes and in the desert heat around the resort. The lunches provided for our hikes were packaged in canvas lunch bags that we also were able to keep. These were nice little bonuses, courtesy of the resort. Overall, we had an amazing time and plan to return someday. The guides and hikes available here offer a great way to learn, see, and experience the beautiful and unique landscape of Southwest Utah. Love this place, and never thought I'd be one to return to the same vacation spot so many times. We travel a lot internationally, live in Portland, Oregon. Red Mountain is one of my favorite places on earth. Right at the base of Snow Canyon which has incredible hikes, the classes are fabulous, the rooms spacious and updated. Usually I stay in one of the regular rooms but hubby and I just did a long weekend in a King Villa. We were in the Hummingbird building on the second floor - killer views of red rock as well as the pool. The food is always exquisite. Great place to meet up with girlfriends which is what I usually do, but hubby loved it too. Don't miss Kayenta Art Village while there. We did an electronic bike tour, did three massive hikes, including the Anasazi Trail (tons of petroglyphs), lounged in hammocks. OH and the spa - best massages, body treatments, facials anywhere. They offer day trips to Zion, rock climbing, yoga, pilates, etc, etc, etc. You can fly into St George and they will get you. Usually I fly into Vegas and rent a car - it's about 1:45 drive. Highly recommend Painted Pony in St George if you have time for special meal outside of spa offerings. Need reservations. They were being extremely careful to follow COVID. Always felt safe.
