100 % free smoke? FALSE

Aug 12th, 2019

The supposed not smoking rooms small so smoky that next day all my clothes inside my open luggage smell like cigarette. Terrible! I my mouth felt so bad like I had smoke. Also people really loud late night and early morning. The 4 starts from trip advisor have to be FAKE. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good Location & Prices, Great Staff

Jul 19th, 2019

This is a great budget motel made spectacular by Saniyah at the front desk! She never fails to greet guests with a huge smile and kind words! There are lots of good hotels/motels in the area but we keep returning because of her! Clean, quiet all non-smoking rooms. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Such kind and friendly front desk staff

Jul 11th, 2019

We stayed here in March of 2017. The other Red Roof we chose two years later in Florence, SC, was horrible, but this one in Durham, NC was wonderful -- the front desk staff went above and beyond to get our room for us during an unexpected snowstorm, and the room was clean for a Red Roof. I would recommend this place if you are traveling with pets. I know this particular staff person is probably not working there anymore, but if so, then you're in luck. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

They kicked me out because my dog is a pit bull

May 5th, 2019

Dog owners beware! They don't allow pit bulls and rottweilers here! I got kicked out of this hotel in the middle of my stay when they saw my dog is a pit bull. No issues with her behavior, no warnings on Orbitz or the Red Roof website or at check-in, no signs posted. Just a few judgmental looks from the staff and passive-aggressive comments. When I called them out about it, I got a phone call in my room from the manager and their lawyer, kicking me out. What a mess. Just be warned -- don't come here if you have a pit bull or rottweiler! No! Please don't do it! Absolutely disgusting.

Apr 27th, 2019

Listen, I don't generally write reviews unless I'm REALLY happy or completely disappointed. I'm writing this review from the comfort of my own bed after deciding to drive home rather than spend one night in this place. I should have listened to my 14 year old when he told me he had "bad vibes" after we pulled up. Check in was fine, but our room was completely disgusting. It smelled, despite being JUST cleaned. The bedspreads were dirty and when we pulled them off the blankets had cigarette burns (non-smoking room) and mystery stains. The remote battery was dying and when I went to call the front desk I saw the phone, alarm clock and lamps were dusty. There was a strange white stain on the carpet and bug remains on the wall where someone had killed something. There was food/beverages left in the refrigerator and finally the ceiling was damaged. There were two large water stains and the plaster was falling onto the counter. There seem to be some long term residents also staying there and although we didn't see anything explicitly illegal, we definitely felt uncomfortable in the parking lot at night. We decided that we'd rather risk our lives driving tired than spend one night in this inn. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
