Nice experience

Apr 19th, 2019

Room was clean and spacious with great rate. On downside, the TV cable did not work in the room and there was no phone in room. Staff came in several times to correct issues, but that did not happen and did not have a phone to bring into the room. Shuttle from and to airport worked well and room was spacious with comfortable bed. Within walking distance of numerous restaurants. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don’t do it

Apr 4th, 2019

I am not sure how this place has any decent ratings. It’s almost like we stayed somewhere completely different. My family and I just needed a place to crash before our morning flight out of Houston. When we first arrived at the airport and called the shuttle, we waited 28 minutes even though the hotel is only 7 minutes away. They also had a second shuttle at the hotel just sitting there so it wasn’t because they were busy. The front desk clerk (Marcy?), wow was she unwelcoming. Just a simple hello would’ve been great but she just stared at us until we explained that we were wanting to check in....not sure why else we would’ve come to the front desk with our luggage. She then proceeded to tell us that Priceline had not yet paid them for our room (even though we prepaid) and that we would need to call them or she would charge us a second time. Excuse me? Why am I calling for you? I have nothing to do with your contract with Priceline. And telling me you’re going to charge me again for what is already paid is some wonderful costumer service. I get that they want to be paid, who doesn’t, but this isn’t something we should be tasked with on our end. She does give us our room key and we head up, only to find out that the room key she just gave us doesn’t work. Hubby heads back down and a couple checking in is having the same issue. They used BookIt and the front desk clerk is saying BookIt isn’t paying them and she is not even going to let them in their room until they call them. Common denominator, Red Roof Inn needs to get their crap together and deal with these things themselves. I call Priceline anyways since I don’t want to be charged twice, Priceline calls this lady at the front desk as I am on hold. They are trying to deal with her for 36 minutes. Eventually Priceline tells me it seems that she is too busy to work with them (and maybe that’s the problem to begin with) but they are escalating my case and will have someone continue to contact her. Not shortly after, she calls up to my room saying the payment is not resolved and asks if I want to come down and just charge it to another card. I tell her no, I am going to wait for Priceline to resolve this (we have already paid!) and she proceeds to Hang. Up. On. Me. Unbelievably rude. The hotel management needs to seriously reconsider this staffing decision, unless she is the management which is the only thing that would make sense. Other than the complete lack of common courtesy in a customer service position, the hotel itself was much better than I was expecting. Laminate flooring, decent size bedroom and bathroom. Shower was good size. No mini fridge so that was kind of a bummer but not the end of the world. The rooms had paper thin walls so bring some earplugs. Bed was pretty hard but hubby loved it. Breakfast had a waffle maker so can’t go wrong there! Quicker shuttle and polite staff members would make this place a little gem! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Near Bush airport

Mar 25th, 2019

We needed a place to stay near George Bush airport so we could catch an early flight from Houston. This hotel was very inexpensive but close to IAH airport. Shuttle ran to airport beginning at 5 a.m. and you could park your car at the Red Roof Inn for $4 a day. Airport charges about $8 a day. Taco Bell and Jack-in-the-Box are in the same block as the hotel. Not many other dining choices. Room was quiet except for the occasional jet. No coffee pot in our room or in lobby at 5 a.m. Sheets and towels were very thin. One towel had a small stain but staff quickly replaced it. Shuttle driver let us out at the airport some distance from where we were to check in. Be ready to walk & carry your luggage. This suited our needs because of proximity to airport, shuttle and parking. The staff was very nice and the shuttle left on time. The towels and sheets need to be replaced right away with better quality. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Shuttle worked great. Bed was very comfortable

Jan 30th, 2019

Needed a hotel close to IAH and wanted a good rate. That’s what I got. When I arrived i had to only wait a few minutes for the shuttle. Checkin was fast. My room was clean. Water pressure could’ve been a bit better but it serves the purpose. Could only sleep a few hours as I was taking the shuttle at 5 am and had stayed at the strip club until 1. Boy did I have a few good hours of sleep. On this trip I stayed at some hotels costing 400$ per night and I must say this was one of the most comfortable beds. It was soft but at the same time firm. Shuttle to the airport at 5 am was on time. I’d stay here again if I was looking for a cheap stay by the airport. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
