Amazing Staff

Sep 9th, 2020

I was greeted politely by the front desk clerk Jaquan. who made sure i made it to my room with all that I would need for my stay. I never felt so safe in a hotel in the downtown area before until i met security guard Danny. who made sure that i felt comfortable outside of the hotel. who made sure the rules and policy is being followed within the building. The two workers made my stay at the hotel enjoyable and i will be coming back again soon! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quiet, comfortable stay

Jul 20th, 2020

A friend stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting from out of town for a conference in Hartford shortly before everything closed down for the pandemic, and she was very pleased with her stay. I stopped by to pick her up from the hotel, and was impressed at the cleanliness and warmth of both the lobby and the hotel employees. The staff of the hotel were friendly and very competent, the rooms are spacious and commodious, and even though this hotel is in central Hartford, you can't hear the noise from the rooms. Staff made sure that she had everything she needed (like extra towels), and helped her with directions to the conference site. The complementary breakfast was pretty good, too - it wasn't just dry toast and soggy eggs, everything was made fresh on-site. There's plenty of parking here as well. Overall, the quality of the hotel is excellent, especially given how affordable this hotel is. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I had to be in Hartford for four nights. With the recent scare of the coronavirus and not knowing if I would have a job, I had to make sure I made an important money decision. I used and found this hotel. I have to say, this had to be some of the best customer service and hospitality that I have received in a very long time. The GM, Scott was extremely helpful. You definitely can tell he put his guests first. The staff that I met, was also very helpful. I will say, Scott made me feel like I was right at home. Due to the coronavirus scare they had to stop their buffet style breakfast. They were doing breakfast in a box. Even though I wasn’t a fan of everything inside, the staff recognized me every time I enter the lobby and made sure that I got mine. I also meant to the sales marketing director in the elevator and she made sure to introduce her self and even let me get to my floor before she even got to the floor she was trying to get you. Anytime I needed an extra towel or anything they had it to me in less than 10 minutes. They always had hot coffee in the lobby. If I come back to the city, this place will always get my business. Thank you Scott and Staff. You made my visit very pleasant. Keep on doing what you’re doing because it’s working! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This place was clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was awesome. All for a great low price. At the front desk, Adrian was friendly and respectful. He talked with my wrestling team while we were waiting in the lobby and was happy to point us to good food for dinner. Nothing but impressed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wedding Group - Everybody Loved It!

Jan 22nd, 2020

We used the Capitol Hotel as our main lodging for a group of about 20 to 30 staying over in Hartford before/after our daughter's wedding in January of 2020. The hotel staff (general manager) made it not only easy, but so convenient and enjoyable. We booked a meeting room the night before the wedding as a "rehearsal dinner" room and had food delivered. The staff was so accommodating getting the room ready and even offering to assist us with getting coolers of beer, wine and water up to the room. The room was perfect for 30 and we had a great evening, not even being "rushed out" when we went a bit over. Much appreciated! The second floor lounge area, with a ping pong table and the continental breakfast area gave our guests a bit of room to roam and chat. Perfect! All of our guests were happy with their rooms. We were given rooms with a view of Bushnell Park ad the Capitol Building. Gorgeous views and I heard the same from so many of our guests. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of pillows. Blackout shades. Clean (spotless) bathrooms and linens. Not a 5-star hotel, but so clean it felt like it. Staff was friendly. Lobby was big enough to chill when loading/unloading cars. The parking garage was super-convenient (right under the hotel) although it is small, and if you drive a full-size pickup like I do, prepare for some multi-point turns to get in and out. The hotel is close to so much...the XL Center, lots of great bars and restaurants (we did our after-wedding gathering at Black-Eyed Sally's, just a half block away, and the Pig's Eye Pub just above it. Good times.) Easy check in and check out (even with multiple rooms booked under my name.) The continental breakfast was nice. Eggs, sausage/bacon, potatoes, muffins, bagels and coffee. It runs until 10 am, but get down there before 9 as it will only be replenished for so long. All in all, we were thrilled to provide our wedding guests with a comfortable and clean hotel at a fantastic rate. The Capitol gave us a fantastic "block rate" so if you're having a wedding in or near Hartford, give them a call. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
