Submarine Convention

Aug 18th, 2019

Attended the USSVI National Convention and stayed at the Renaissance Austin Hotel. The hotel is nice and conveniently located. Austin is undergoing a lot of road construction and getting out of the hotel and into Austin is a bit of a trek. The only downside to the hotel is there are only 4 Elevators that I could locate and one of them is undergoing modernization and was told it would be about 8 weeks before it was complete. The remaining three elevators are extremely slow. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Hotel in Nice Location

Aug 14th, 2019

I was here for a convention and my family came as well. The convention rooms were great. The hotel is very pretty and clean. Our room was on the 8th floor that opened up to the indoor courtyard area. I liked that over being in a hallway (which some were). It's farther from the elevator and a bit noisy at night if there are a lot of people eating , but I liked the open feel. There is a very nice weight room with plenty of equipment and very spread out. 2 pools. One in and one out. The landscaping around is very nice for getting out and walking around. Several walking paths and really large trees. There are several shops and places to eat right there and many more options across the road.We were about 10-12 minutes from downtown Austin eateries and shopping. We drove down there to eat most evenings and the drive wasn't bad at all. During my lunch break, I had several chain restaurants very close by and several unique to me places as well. Popular chain shopping stores were very close as well. The staff were all very friendly and even though the hotel was large, you din't feel like you were walking your legs off to get around. Good stay

Aug 13th, 2019

Nice hotel away from the downtown craziness. Close to many offices north of the center. Rooms were a bit tired, common areas were better. Minimal lounge (Platinum benefit). Wouldn't mind staying here again but lots of choices in the area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent Hotel

Aug 9th, 2019

Stayed for three nights. The location is nice with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. The room was clean, amenities were good. My room was on the 9th floor which is the highest floor and it had a nice view. The room service was prompt. Two small water bottles were provided in the room without any charge. The check-in staff was nice and was promptly given a room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel outside of main Austin area

Aug 6th, 2019

This is a nice hotel and it was an enjoyable stay. It is located close to a lot of shopping and restaurants but ultimately it's a bit far from the main areas in Austin if you're traveling for leisure. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
