Under Marriott standards

Jan 22nd, 2020

The hotel is long in the tooth. It looks and feels dated, very unlike the photos. It is comfortable, but it's a bit shabby. The corridors are dark, and please don't expect a view of...well, anything, other than a parking lot. I did check out the dining, but I passed, and we went elsewhere. We could not get adjoining rooms, as all of those are by elevators, for some reason and, without suites, we just got two rooms down the hall from each other. At $192.10 total each, that's almost $400 for the two of us. I can't imagine who is giving this hotel 4 or more stars. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Older property with some dated decor and

Jan 8th, 2020

First, the good. The staff is helpful and nice to deal with. The pool area is very nice and quiet. Beds are comfortable. We had the breakfast rate so gave it a shot our first morning. Pretty disappointing, minimal at best and so we just went elsewhere the balance of our trip. Rooms are decent size, reasonably quiet. Our bed was missing the skirt so you saw the frame when you walk in the room. The coffee maker didn't work and took several days to get replaced. Toilet in the bathroom did not flush without holding the handle down for.a three count. Overall, the place looks worn and dated. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overpriced Two-Star Property

Dec 1st, 2019

Wow! Price was double that of the Holiday Inn, but I would never stay at a Renaissance property again. The staff was friendly and seemed to be trying under the failings of the property. The Room: nice size, but old and average. Dusty lamps. Bathroom: (1) Vent was dirty; (2) Exhaust was inefficient to remove steam; (3) bathroom/towels did not dry - even over night. Forced to get additional towels - reuse was not an option. (4) Heavy glass shower door would slowly glide open allowing water to wet the floor. Phones: Useless. While I did get a dial tone and presumably could dial out, there were no instructions beyond that. The phone was full of buttons for Housekeeping, Front Desk, etc. but none of them worked. I had to go down to the desk! They told me, "oh, I don't think those buttons work, I 'think' you have to dial 0". Seriously!?! The front desk didn't know how to call the front desk?!? Signage and Instructions needed. Coffee station was ridiculous; (1) the cord didn't reach the outlet, so had to move it; (2) the box with supplies was lovely, but couldn't open in place, so it also had to be moved; (3) refilling the box was haphazard - items I used were not replaced (coffee lids, sweeteners), although one day I did get some some Body Lotion in with the creamers! Only other issue was our room was right outside the Elevator and while its noise was fine, Parents should learn to quiet their children in a hotel hallway! Signs by the elevator would have helped. Could have been better

Nov 25th, 2019

I visit Boca Raton frequently and have stayed at numerous hotels in the area. On my first visit to this hotel I used the mobile check in to check in at timely fashion and got to the hotel late. I walked around the hotel and liked the large pool area and lively atmosphere. My room was standard, but the breakfast and dessert amenities were nice. When I pulled down the covers to go to bed, however, it appeared that the linens hadn’t been changed. I called the front desk, but housekeeping was gone. They brought me a clean blanket. The next day the linens were changed and I got a good night’s sleep. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Luxury Suite with Nice Toiletries

Nov 7th, 2019

I recently stayed at the Renaissance Boca Raton Hotel and I got upgraded to the Luxury Suite which came with a separate living room, a large bathroom and a small fridge area. The decor reminds me of the 70s for some reason. The air conditioning units (there's one in the bedroom and one in the living room) are very powerful. I liked the Aveda toiletries. My only gripe was that the room phone was from the 1970s and the room service button didn't work (I know, first world problems). On the plus side, there was a Jacuzzi in my room (I didn't try it).
