Pleasant stay!

May 21st, 2019

Stayed at this hotel for one night. I was given the updated room. Check-in was smooth and fast. The front desk staff seemed courteous and welcoming. The updated rooms are spacious, internet was fast and the bathrooms looked modern. The club lounge is smaller compared to the other Marriott brands. Elizabeth at the club lounge was awesome and she takes good care of her guests. If you would like to run or walk outdoors, there are sidewalks in the neighborhood. If you walked about a quarter mile on the Skokie Blvd., you will have access to trails. The hotel is about 20mnts. drive to the O’Hare airport. Peeve: The air conditioner/fan in the room was very loud. Something should be done to make it a little quieter while running. Overall a very pleasant experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Superb staff made our stay truly wonderful!

Apr 29th, 2019

My wife and I stayed at the hotel this past weekend. The front desk staff, Ramina, Katia and Everline were extremely friendly and welcoming not just upon checking-in, but throughout our entire stay at the hotel. Ramina, Katia and Everline truly went above and beyond in making our stay such a wonderful experience! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice lobby. Good bar. Average rooms.

Apr 23rd, 2019

Really nice lobby and lobby bar - and excellent service all around. Parking is adequate, but sometimes the valet service from the attached Ruth’s Chris steakhouse makes getting in and out a pain. It’s an older place - so the bathrooms are pretty small, and no air circulation in the bathroom, so things get real damp after a hot shower. Otherwise no complaints - but they are renovating, so maybe there’s some improvement in sight. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Issues throughout the stay

Apr 11th, 2019

At check in everything went fine and were pleasantly greeted. We were there for a family visit and it was great to be close to the rest of the family but the hotel was saturated with young children and adults for a rather large baby shower. It seemed that there was not enough staff to guide where they needed to go. The display with the locations of events or parties was not in a convenient location. Also there were towels that didn't seem to be replaced, washed or inspected well as they contained pubic hair from the moment we walked in. We spoke to the front desk several times but it was like it wasn't of much importance. The bathroom door had an old blood stain on it. In the end I was excited to leave because the hotel had not such great amenities just a bar/restaurant that are one in the same. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect choice for Ravinia!

Feb 26th, 2019

The Renaissance North Shore is one of the few hotels in the area that offers a free shuttle to Ravinia, which is a huge perk when seeing a show there. As others have noted, the hotel rooms and hallways could definitely use some updating, but the rooms are very clean and comfortably furnished. The hotel staff was all very pleasant and professional. What sets this hotel apart from other local hotels that offer a shuttle are the bar and upscale restaurant on site. Food, drinks and service at the hotel's bars/restaurant are fantastic, and the Renaissance will remain my "go-to" hotel to avoid driving to and parking at the Ravinia festival grounds.
