Nicely renovated. Very modern.

Feb 16th, 2020

All was good. Just a few comments. The concierge lounge was completely unavailable for drinks on Saturday afternoon. Water/tea/coffee. The breakfast set up somewhat confusing. Sunday went at 10:00 am much of food was gone, needed to wait for replenishing. Amenities for breakfast were actually less than a Fairfield. Coffee was good! Service was good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Understated elegance!

Feb 2nd, 2020

These people are all about the details! The hubs and I stayed here for a relaxing weekend getaway. The valet parking was seamless, as was the check-in process. The gal at the front desk was extremely efficient and friendly. She even walked us to the elevator, which was only around the corner! This hotel was a bank at one time, which makes for some incredibly charming surprises throughout the property. The room we stayed in was on the corner and gave us an enormous amount of space and was tastefully decorated. The mattress was on point and I heard no hallway noise. I’m a hotel room snob and can find even the slightest bit of grime - there was none! The bar staff was accommodating and the general manager stopped by to check on us several times. I have no experience with housekeeping - other than how immaculately clean it was upon arrival-because we didn’t leave the room long enough for them to get in there! The shower was very nice and came along with the usual niceties you’d expect in a premium hotel. It was an incredibly relaxing stay. I noticed on our way out that there were plenty of places right around the corner to eat, hit Walgreen’s or get some coffee. It felt very safe, as well. I’ve stayed in a lot of places and this was hands down among the very best. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Interesting place, lots of potential

Jan 6th, 2020

I visited for New Year's Eve/Day. We had a double bed room due to us being advised that the higher up rooms were all double beds and we wanted a quiet room. The hotel itself is very nice. The room was clean and everything worked as it was supposed to. The layout of the room is a bit weird as the entrance to the bathroom is located close to one of the beds and the door is a sliding door. Not ideal for people staying with others that they don't know that well, but okay for a couple. The window was in a corner of the room that offered no decent view of anything. As a rewards member, I was disappointed, but I'm sure that other guests probably had a better view. We ordered breakfast room service and did what the instructions called for. We left our order on the room door at about 8pm on the day before and asked to have it delivered between 10:15 - 10:30 in the morning. We woke up and waited. At 10:30am, we opened the door to find the menu/order form were still on the door. No one came to the 19th floor and collected the orders. I was advised by a guy at the front desk that he had no explanation of what happened. Very disappointing. The walls seemed to thick. I heard loud guests in the hallway in the room next to me, but did not hear them from our room. The ambiance and feel of the hotel are modern and sleek. The elevators came promptly even though there seemed to be plenty of guests coming and going. Also, our car was scuffed by something and/or someone overnight while the car was in the hands of the valet service. I called and reported this on the day of checkout and was advised that I would get a return call about this. A week later, no call from management yet. This hotel has the potential to be great, but there are serious problems with basic service that travelers expect. I don't ask for the greatest service, but damage to our car and a $20 credit for a lack of breakfast service are deal breakers for me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

a wonderful time in cincy for christmas

Dec 23rd, 2019

This is my second time in cincy for christmas cheer and both times have been the Renaissance Downtown... The Hotel has a certain charm and its placement makes it a walking distance to most of the best restaraunts in downtown... See some of my other posts... They take care of the Marriot Members very well and i will always remember that. I had a seared tuna appetizer in our room for a snack and it was very well done. The Mattresses and pillows and perfect and it was very peacefull.... It a cool place to stay and a short walk to Fountain square as well! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Solid choice in Downtown Cincinnati

Dec 22nd, 2019

This hotel is an good choice in downtown Cincinnati. The rooms overall are modern and the beds are comfortable. The gym is larger and better equipped than most in downtown, with a broad selection of weight machines, dumbbells, and cardio machines. The downstairs bar/restaurant is convenient - has a broad food menu and craft beer on tap. There is a lounge for Platinum Marriott members which serves breakfast and a happy hour/dinner on the ground floor. Check in and out is a breeze. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, and quick to help you with what you need. The only gap is in the housekeeping, where the standards are below average and could use an upgrade if the hotel is to maintain its quality over time. When I checked in the last time, there were no hangers in the closet and I had to call for them- it is this attention to detail which can use some improvement. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
