Nice hotel but Noisy

Sep 5th, 2020

The room is clean and nice. You have to obtain a bag of toiletries when you check in or you will have no soap, shampoo, or conditioner. Room is nice and cold - the AC runs superbly. Couple of minor issues - 1) the room is next to the road so we could hear road noises and loud exhaust. (We are on the 7th floor). That is somewhat to be expected when staying at a hotel downtown. 2) we had no toilet paper in the room (and I didn’t look before I leapt - my bad). I’m not sure if it also because of COVID that they do not provide toilet paper like the toiletries (??). Anyway, we went to the front desk to ask for TP and told her there is none in the room at all. The front desk lady said “yes, we do not provide extra toilet paper.” I again repeated that there is NO toilet paper at all. She looked confused and then asked if we want TP now or later 0_o Guess maybe there’s TP rationing going on here? TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice room

Jun 18th, 2020

The room was nice and spacious. Right now heart of downtown. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Nice sized showers and they had a nice lobby area. The staff were nice and accommodating. Parking can be a little tricky though. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Pot smoking paradise

May 29th, 2020

I had high hopes for my stay at this hotel. However, my experience was ruined. I checked in to the hotel using my gift certificate for reaching 75 nights with Marriott hotels. Since the certificate is only worth 40,000 points I try to use them at mid tier properties. Finding out that the Renaissance was a 35,000 point property should have been my first clue that things might not have gone smoothly. I checked in using the mobile key. When I arrived to the room I noticed that I did not have any toiletries, not a big deal in the new Covid-19 world, but a bit unusual, as I have been traveling about, throughout the pandemic and this is the first time I’ve had to ask for basics such as hand soap. I showered, hung up my clothes for the morning then left for dinner. Morton’s is right around the corner and fantastic! After a lovely dinner with friends I returned to my room on the 17th floor only to be hit in the with the overwhelming smell of marijuana! Now before the hate begins, I don’t care what someone else does as long as I am not impacted by their actions. I sent my first complaint about the smell through the chat feature. I sent my second complaint about an hour later to the Marriott hotline. I was told that they would send someone up to investigate and ask the person or persons to stop smoking. This was unbelievable to me. I was literally fuming. The smoking continued for at least another hour after my second call to the hotel. The next morning my clothes wreaked of pot smoke and all the hotel manager Chris offered was a half hearted apology and acknowledgement that the offending guests had been contacted, and agreed to stop smoking. I have several issues with his response. First of all a non smoking hotel should be just that, non smoking! Secondly, my clothing will need to be dry cleaned because for several hours they were hanging near a vent that was spewing smoke from the other side. I have no desire in my life to go around smelling like pot smoke. Thirdly, no offer to return my certificate or points equivalent, just an assurance that on my next stay they would do better. Give me a break! It will be an ice cold day in the tropics before I ever return to this property! Tolerating illicit and illegal behavior is not something that I desire when picking out a hotel option. Apparently, if you’re looking to smoke a pound of pot, this is your hotel. I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of concern from the management about their guests experiences. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Above and Beyond

Feb 26th, 2020

I want to thank everyone for their kindness and hospitality. I am recovering from broken ribs and the GM (Rebecca) was beyond kind to upgrade me to a room with a bath. The room was beautiful. While I am a titanium elite for life member, I rarely ask for upgrades while traveling on the business, but they hooked me up big time. The staff at the front desk are all great. Greeted me right away and couldn’t have been nicer and more professional. My suite was perfect. Enormous, great bed and shower. Perfect location if traveling to Cinci for business and pleasure. Thanks again. My new home away from home in Cinci. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nicely renovated. Very modern.

All was good. Just a few comments. The concierge lounge was completely unavailable for drinks on Saturday afternoon. Water/tea/coffee. The breakfast set up somewhat confusing. Sunday went at 10:00 am much of food was gone, needed to wait for replenishing. Amenities for breakfast were actually less than a Fairfield. Coffee was good! Service was good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
