Beautiful hotel with great staff

Apr 15th, 2020

Spent a night at the town. The lobby is gorgeous with grand view. Hygiene of the hotel is very good. Hotel room is nicely renovated. The only drawback was that the hotel's internet was down during the whole stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Two Words: GREAT SERVICE!!!!

Mar 16th, 2020

This Hotel is Fantastic. Great location, nice rooms, and the best customer service I’ve had at a hotel in a while. I’m a somewhat regular traveler, and I must say this Renaissance went above an beyond for me. HUGE SHOUTOUT to Didem and Carson for making me feel like I was family and going above and beyond for me. Carson and Didem are 2 of the nicest hotel employees who bent over backwards just to help keep me smiling :) This hotel definitely knows how to treat employees right. I will stay here every time I go to Denver, I’ve been recommending the hotel to all my friends/family, and I 💯 give them 5 out of 5 stars. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Stay, loved the history in the hotel!

Mar 4th, 2020

I'll preface by saying that I am not normally a fan of historic hotels, as I've found that many are not well maintained. That could not be more true here. What this property managed to do with this historic bank building is spectacular. From keeping the main lobby and incredible murals in pristine condition, to upgrading the rest of the building so that it is a comfortable and modern hotel, they sure did it! I had requested to use Suite Night awards and they were honored with an upgrade to the 1 bedroom suite. I've stayed in many 1 bedroom suites, and all are definitely not created equal. Some are no more than two connecting hotel rooms, one with a couch and the other a bed. That was not the case here - this was truly a suite, complete with a separate living/dining room space and then a bedroom as well. Some of the touches, like the artwork, and the flagstone accent wall, are unlike anything I've seen in a hotel room before. Beyond that, the room was clean and quiet - so there isn't much more to ask for. The location, a block off of the 16th Street Mall is great, as it's a super quick walk, but slightly off of the main street and all of its activity and noise. I only have a few minor complains. First, the smell that others have mentioned is real, it's primarily on the lower level. I didn't find it so bad that I couldn't stand it. Second, on a moderately busy weekday evening, it was difficult to get served at the bar in the lobby. I felt that bartenders were not aware of just how many were waiting to be served as they chatted up those seated at the bar. Lastly, I get annoyed when breakfast service in a concierge lounge is cleaned up prior to its stated end time. If breakfast is stated to go until 9:00am, I don't think items should start being cleaned up at 8:45/8:50, and that is what happened here. Items were removed very aggressively so that by 9:00am it was completely wrapped up. Otherwise, I thought the service by all others at the hotel was solid. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location does not make up for the poor service and amenities

Feb 15th, 2020

This hotel is not a 4-start hotel. Here are a few things about my trip: 1) Room Service - ordered breakfast to be delivered at 6:30am at my hotel room--had to get it early because I had an early start time. I called and called at 6:50 and didn't get an answer. Finally I got an answer around 6:55 and was told they hadn't even started my breakfast this is totally unacceptable. 2) The worst hotel gym - This is the worst hotel gym I've ever been too. The main issue being the strong gas leak / sewage smell. The second issue being limited equipment that is mainly broken. 2 of the 3 treadmills were broken. They miraculously had a peloton which I woke up at 5:45am on a Saturday to use. I got to the gym and the seat adjuster was broken..I called and they said someone would come in 5 minutes to see if they could adjust with a tool. 3 calls and 20 minutes later someone showed up and wasn't successful in fixing it. 3) Room - plugs are too loose and half of them don't work. This is very frustrating in a modern hotel. No overhead lighting. The TV is huge though and the beds / bedding is very comfortable. On the plus side besides the comfortable bed the restaurant and bar staff are great and the food is delicious. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
