Horrible housekeeping

Aug 14th, 2019

I stay at this hotel frequently. Not by choice but because it is where my employer requires. If I had any other option I would not stay at this hotel. The main reason is that the housekeeping is horrible. Rooms frequently go without cleaning for days, despite specific requests for room cleaning. On one occasion I found my bed soiled with feces when I pulled back the covers. They do not maintain sanitary conditions in this facility, despite repeated complaints from me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Business Travel PERFECTION!

Aug 8th, 2019

This is my home away from home. It is the old airport area, before the airport moved east. When that commerce was lost, this hotel re-invented itself to keep people coming back. It has that Pan-Am vibe...looks like a monorail should run through it. The decor is modern flight themed...very fun. The neighborhood/area is a bit rough...so no walking/nightlife, unfortunately. Fast food and a liquor store. But other than next door...I wouldnt walk around at night. The brewery next door (Station 26) is hopping (pun intended) with beer and nightly food trucks. The hotel is perfect for me, a weekly visitor to Denver for business. I am status with Bonvoy..so that helps. As the concierge lounge has amazing breakfast and nightly "dinner!" Yes, they charge for drinks...but low price to pay for a full dinner and glass of wine. A complimentary fridge is full of water, juice, soda, milk...etc. And, the nightly dinner is over 2 hours of full service. Not like the other lounges with a cheese platter and carrots! The lobby lounge has great food and is busy every night. The hotel hosts many conventions...and convention people are on expense accounts and entertaining. Most United employees stay here too, as the training facility is across the street. The gym is huge...for a hotel. And an indoor/outdoor pool. The also have guest laundry, if needed. The hotel does not have a hotel shuttle from the airport. BUT...on demand, the hotel shuttle will drop and pick up from the Central Park RTD station. Grab the train at the airport...and 15 direct minutes--you are at the train stop 1 mile from the hotel. The train is clean and safe. As a single woman, I ride it often. The last train is 11 pm. The hotel comps my parking (Bonvoy status) so I often leave my car on Friday and return on Monday. Everyone on staff is super friendly. Aveda products are bath amenities. Every room has little packs of ear plugs. Not sure if this is left as a reminder of the airport days. But...sometimes at night you will hear the freight trains. Rooms have fridge and coffee maker. There is a gift store, that sells snacks...etc. This hotel is not downtown. And, if going to a nightly sports game, I would make sure that the train runs when the game ends. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean and helpful staff

Location just off the airport line, three stops from downtown Denver. Courtesy bus was very helpful. Food good but pricey. Swimming pools on the small size. Great helpful staff all around. Very clean rooms TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Substitution for Booked Hotel!

Aug 6th, 2019

We were booked at the Courtyard by Marriott just across the tracks but because of a "stay over", there was no availability. The staff there made arrangements for us to stay here instead. One plus--they have free shuttle service to and from the train station. Another plus--this was a stop for the free bus to the stock show. And another plus--this is where we were going on Saturday night for the Embryos on Snow sale so we didn't have to walk from the other hotel. And finally a BIG plus--we were upgraded to the Club Lounge floor with a gorgeous view of the mountains from our balcony and had access to the free drinks and snacks in the lounge. The front desk staff was a bit lacking as we were to have a 2 nights stay and were issued checkout invoices under our door after the first night causing us to panic and make numerous phone calls to get this straightened out and I arrived in Denver not feeling well so this was an inconvenience. There was a fiasco getting new cards keyed for our rooms so we could still have access the second night. When we checked out the second day, we couldn't be issued a statement as the computer was busy doing something else for the day. We left curious as to what extra charge we may have been issued for the more expensive hotel. Needless to say, we were pleasantly surprised by how cheap our bill was for the inconvenience of relocating for our stay. A few bumps in the road but otherwise a very enjoyable stay. One minus I would mention about this hotel is the inside of the building opens up in the center all the way to the top so the noise in the lobby as well as the rowdy bar crowd echos up and did disturb our getting to bed early for a 4am departure to the airport for an early flight. Enjoyable Stay

Aug 4th, 2019

Chose this hotel based on reviews and the fact it had a balcony. It was the last night of our summer vacation traveling through Montana and Wyoming and I wanted our final night to be nice. Worst part of getting there was the 20 minute stand still a block from the hotel due to a very long train that was holding up traffic trying to get off the interstate! We could see our hotel but could only sit waiting on the train which would stop, back up, stop, move forward, stop, back up, etc etc etc. When we finally got to the hotel and walked in, we were greeted by friendly hotel stay. The lobby was beautiful with glass elevators. Check in was seamless. Our room was on the 9th floor. Walking in, it was well decorated and clean but had a slight odor of cigarettes which seemed to be coming from the air conditioner vent. After a few minutes in the room, it was no longer noticeable. I loved the furnishings and big clean bathroom. The walk in shower was amazing! Best feature was the private balcony facing the city and mountains. We opened the curtains wide and enjoyed a beautiful sunset! Slept peacefully in a comfy bed. Very quiet. The next morning enjoyed coffee while looking out over the city from our balcony. Room had all the amenities: fridge and coffee maker (with liquid cream and not that powdered stuff!!). Self parking garage nearby was nice too. Also, we had dinner in the lobby which was nice. After putting 1700 miles on the rental car, the option of room service or lobby meal was an easy choice. Thanks for a nice restful stay at the Renaissance! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
