Excellent location near Cruise Port and shopping

Jul 15th, 2019

This was our first time to Fort Lauderdale and we stayed at the Renaissance for three day's prior to catching a cruise out of Port Everglades. We are glad we chose this hotel. The rooms were nice and the hotel was very clean. The check in and check out processes were smooth. The staff were friendly and always able to answer any questions we had. Prices for food were with in normal hotel standards and the quality was very good. I originally was concerned that the pool was right next to the road way and would be noisy but actually it was not an issue. We had a nice morning by the pool and we recommend that you go early if you want to have a more relaxing time as around noon it gets busier with more kids.It is located a short walk from the water taxi giving you easy access to many more local attractions. We will make this our hotel of choice for our next cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Renaissance Hotel Fort Lauderdale Cruiseport

Jul 5th, 2019

Our room had been cancelled unexpectedly and we were scrambling to find another! The Renaissance gladly accepted our reservation at the last minute!!! thank you for saving our long awaited vacation. Rooms are comfy and well decorated. Staff is friendly and very helpful!!! Forgot my keys in the room after we were already on the cruise ship. Got back to the hotel who let me back to our room. Thank you!!! Sorry this review is a long time coming! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Night before a cruise

Jul 2nd, 2019

This is the perfect location to stay before or after a cruise. It is a 2 minute drive to the port. This location is across the street from a Walgreens for last minute items. It is within walking distance to a few restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here if I’m the area again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Ok but not what I expect

Jun 18th, 2019

So let me start off by saying I’m a Marriott guy and a big fan of the renaissance chain I’ve stayed at a few..this one is unfortunately not at the top of my list It is not Orlando or wash dc First the good The room was clean and quiet The bedding super comfy The concierge room was great with good food and the two women working it were awesome Location: close to a lot The bad Parking lot gate did not work .. could not get out.. the help buzzer did not work either .. had to call... When I did get hold of someone I told them 6 kids were using the parking area as a skateboard rink and that this was a hazard... oh. Ok walking in from the parking garage is the meeting/ convention area .. it smelled like sewage backup .. when I checked in I asked about the concierge room I was told that my hold status did not qualify I then told the girl at check in I had booked for and paid for this. Oh.. ok The 2 elevators looked antiquated and were very slow It seems this hotel thrives from non discretionary business: cruise overnighted sand airline personnel So maybe Marriott does care but for me to come back they really need to invest in management coaching and invest in the physical plant TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful experience!

May 27th, 2019

We booked a family event (27 guest rooms and an evening event in the ballroom with 125 people) at this hotel, and had a wonderful weekend there. The hotel is in a great location. It is ten minutes from FLL, and near dozens of restaurants and conveniences. It is only 1-1.5 miles from the beach, and within minutes of many other Ft. Lauderdale attractions. It is fairly newly renovated, and the decor is fun. It is not too big. One restaurant, a coffee/snack bar and a bar/lounge area. The pool area is relaxing, with first-come, first-served cabanas. The guest rooms are clean. The staff is phenomenal! From the valet staff (shout out to Alejandro!), to the front desk staff (shout out to Jessica, Levi and Brian!), to housekeeping, to the executive team (sales, banquet, etc.), they are top-notch. Diane, in sales, and Emily in (banquet, I think? Sorry, Emily, I may not have that right) made the weekend for us! They could not have been more accommodating. They were always asking what they could do to make the experience better (they couldn't) and always available if we needed something. I highly recommend your staying at this Renaissance, whether it be for a cruise lay-over, or a special event weekend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
