Family stay at Indian Wells

Like others I took advantage of booking this hotel using Bonvoy points. We upgraded to a 1 bedroom executive suite (see pics). This was clean/spacious and renovated to a great standard. Due to covid many items were removed from the room, I requested they return the coffee maker, the iron/board and (2 drinking glasses). Various TV channels could not pic up a signal and the internet tv would often drop out. The room comes with complimentary bottled water, however I had to request this be delivered daily. I feel this should be delivered as standard each morning to guest rooms, rather than have me feel like I am nagging the hotel staff all the time. Pool area was great for the kids, apart from some annoying adults throwing toy baseballs around 🙄 why??? Grow up. Note behind the beach/sand area are cabanas at a charge, they look awful and well used/worn, there are no free beds on the sand like the website picture makes out. Also the sand area has no shade. The pool service was good, the food choices were limited and basic, and served to you in a togo box. Not sure why they feel the need to do this because of covid. Anyway, the food was ok at best. During our stay they introduced wrist bands for the pool area. We did not wear ours but showed them on entry to the pool. I feel this is a tacky move by the hotel, Im not on a club 18-30s vacation, just stick with guests giving there room number instead! Hotel has places covid stickers on most indoor seating area’s so not many people hanging around. Why not just separate them 6ft and people can use these area’s instead of melting outside. Overall for a practically free stay this was a pretty good hotel choice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful attentive staff, clean rooms and very relaxed atmosphere

Decided to take a few days off and take advantage of the Marriott points sale and stayed here from Wed through Friday. The hotel is really clean, there is hand sanitizing stations all over the property. There are measures in place to keep everyone safe. All the staff are very attentive and nice. They really appreciate people coming. Masks are required everywhere except when you are in the pool. The pool was pretty deserted Wed and Thur but families are checking in Thursday pm and by the time I left, there were more people. The $36 resort fee has a $20 food credit per day. The food choices and times are limited for take out only but it was fine as I went into Palm Springs for lunch one of the days. went to Joshua tree one evening to see the Milky way and the Comet. It was a perfect relaxing trip Only the pool is open with limited hours. Spa and gym closed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Do not recommend this property

I stayed with my entire family Fourth of July weekend and decided to cut our stay short they did not provide food options for kids only had takeout for breakfast the front desk was very unprofessional I believe the front desk manager Andrew (I believe that’s his name) was very unprofessional extremely arrogant and did not take feedback very well I am not sure what his background and or experience however working in hospitality for over 28 years I expected someone with great customer service that is able to articulate and anticipate the needs of their guest. The front desk manager was very argumentative and combative. The front desk is the face of your hotel I must say that this property is very ugly. Train your staff on customer service 101 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beware staff (Andrew Paulus) unprofessional and unethical

By far did not meet my expectations for a category 6 hotel. Understanding we are in a middle of pandemic however this hotel had months to prepare for re opening . Did not accommodate guests that required special accommodations and special dietary needs. The front desk lacked self awareness and very unprofessional . They did not have water to provide to their guests when checking in/out given it was 110 degree weather, Was charged for meals I did not purchase I checked out a day early which ruined my 4th of July plans and when I checked out I was guaranteed reimbursement I made several attempts to reach management I was promised and guaranteed reimbursement I called for the 7th time and spoke to front desk manager which he stated he was the hotel manager (Andrew paulus) . He was rude and very unprofessional when I advised him the call was monitored he abruptly hung up on me. I do not recommend this hotel even if they drop their rates to under 100.00 per day ! Please note I have documentation available for anyone to review and validate his unprofessionalism. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A wonderful property

The Renaissance is a "full service" resort offering something for everyone. A huge pool accommodates a lot of people. The staff are warm and helpful. The newly remodeled rooms are fresh and clean. It is a well run resort. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
