Stay at Renaisance

Picked the hotel since it was close to airport. Due to covid , there is obviously no gym no breakfast , no club level , but there was weed smell coming all night thru the vent. Called the manger , they moved us to a lower level . In the morning , I thought they addressed the issue , they just charged the guest smoking fee 😳. The whole hall on that floor you could not walk. Stayed at Marriot during covid , it is not good TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
You'd be better at Motel 6. Don't waste your money!

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at. too many questionable characters hanging around the lobby and entrance. very dirty in lobby elevator and hallways. no water in the rooms. when i asked to extra towels i was asked to first return the used ones ( no hotel has ever asked me to do that, not even motel 6) you guys automatically turn the air conditioning up at night to save money I assume. I did not sleep a wink because the room was so hot no matter how low I turned the AC. When I complained someone said they would have the manager contact me who never did. the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Near LAX and overall experience is good

The staff are good to help. I had just one night stay and the room has lots of noise therefore I had a very bad sleep, when I checked out I reflected this compliant and the staff expressed sorry and the attitude was very sincere to help. The solution was good and appreciate for the staff's help. The shuttle bus is convenient and the breakfast restaurant is good. The room facility can be acceptable. All the service, food are beyond my expectation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Excellent Service and fantastic staff

During March we stayed at the Renaissance LAX on two occasions, one when we arrived in LAX and one before we had to depart early due to the Covid-19 Pandemic., however we did stay in September 2019 as well. Location is ideal. A short bus ride from the terminal. The bus seems to run every 15 mins or so. Drivers are polite and helpful, busses are clean. Hotel itself is clean and the staff are pretty awesome, really friendly and helpful. The decro is what you expect from a Renaissance property, but with the LA/Hollywood feel here it is not out of place. The room - I always book the room with the club lounge access, the room itself is always immaculate and topped up with free tea/coffee and water, big TV with a selection of stations etc. Beds are comfortable and soft. Club Lounge - the breakfasts and snacks make it worth while and it also gives you somewhere to just sit back with a cold beer and watch the planes come in and out of LAX. R Lounge / Restaurant - Good selection of food and beers, pool table in the lounge and often there is live music which is always a bonus. Finally, if you have forgotten any basic or you just can be bothered to unpack the guys on reception are happy to provide you with the amenities that you need. Yes, its a few dollars more expensive than some of the other hotels, but its a good place to start and end your trip from. And a big Thank You! This goes to Shenny who was on the main desk during our stay, Shenny was an absolute star getting us a late check out and generally being one of the nicest people that we have met, after having to cut our trip short because of the Coronavirus being declared a Pandemic, Shenny really went above and beyond. Honestly I recommend this place 100% TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Outdated, Overpriced, And Unclean!

Amidst the current events, we understand certain protocols and procedures change, but that shouldn't have created the amount of issues we encountered. We are avid travelers and our unfortunate 4 night stay at the Renaissance LAX was less than glamorous. First, the unwelcoming front desk representative seemed unexcited to be there and it showed."People first" is one of Marriott's core values and didn't seem like she remembered that. Second, the overpriced garage fee of $42 during a time when the hotel is nowhere near capacity is absurd! We parked at another hotel valet for $10 a night! Third, the music throughout the hotel is very unwelcoming as well as the smell of marijuana lingering. Yes it's California, but we had higher hopes for a Marriot hotel. As a Marriot rewards member I would've expected better and this might be my last Marriot stay. Fourth, the issue of cleanliness within the room. While we understand bed sheets and towels can be replaced throughout our stay, the bathroom was filthy, outdated and not up to standards. Our hairdryer was not working when we arrived and at request it was replaced. We also noticed the pool was a little warn for the wear. The Marriot up the street has a better pool than this Renaissance location. Unfortunately, we did not choose to experience this hotel's restaurant or other amenities based on our initial impression. Truthfully, we will not be staying at this location again. The only saving grace was that the hotel has a free shuttle to the airport and held our luggage during the day even after checkout. If Marriot held to their core values of embracing change and putting people first, I think our stay could've been much better! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
