Great Property, location and team

Jan 9th, 2020

First stay ever, for 2 nights. Older classy property that has a good lounge for platinum and higher, and nice balcony off the room for a very different street view vibe. Steve Park, the front office Director helped instantly sort out a request around a future room stay and was fantastic, professional and very responsive, as was the entire front desk staff. Better customer service overall than many NYC Marriott properties so looking forward to future stays. Also great location to central park for jogging! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wow. Great From Start To Finish

Jan 3rd, 2020

As soon as we stepped in, the warmth and caring nature of all the staff was clear and plentiful. We had a hiccup with a purse we thought we’d lost, they were quick to help and very sympathetic, ensuring it’s return was then kept safe. We were given a great room, it was clean and prepared well every day (although not all glasses/towels used were replaced like for like). Every time we returned from a day out or coming down in the morning the greetings from all staff were genuine and outgoing, they all were so happy to help and provide a compassionate environment. The bed was VERY comfortable. Everything you need is very close including the Subway. Have your coffee from Juan Valdez on 57th across the street and your pizza from My Pie pizza just around the corner on Lexington - both awesome. CVS Pharmacy for cheap beer, daily essentials, chocolate and tit bits further down Lexington several blocks. If returning to New York we’d definitely stay here again. Thank you Jennyffer 😘 !!!! Like going home

Jan 3rd, 2020

I had not stayed there in almost four years but was greeted by name as if I was just there. The staff is awesome and even (as a Gold member) allowed to check in early. It was like going home again. I’ll visit again soon TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Location, but not my favorite Marriott in NYC

Jan 2nd, 2020

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights at this hotel between Christmas and the new year. The location is excellent. it is on Lexingtion and 57th. It's only two short blocks from a subway stop at Lexington and 59th street. It is a short walk to 5th Avenue, Central Park, and Times Square. We found the location to be a convenient base for exploring the city. The room was ok. Even though we were on a fairly low floor (7), the room was quiet. The bed was comfortable even though it was only a full sized bed. The room was decently sized. The bathroom was good. There were only two working elevators and they are very small. We had to wait for a second elevator several times. On the negative side, the lounge is not up to par with other Marriott properties. The room was not as clean as I would have preferred. Even though I am a titanium member, there were no upgrades available. They did not provide the extra towels, washcloths, and pillows I requested through the Marriott App. Overall, it was a great vacation and the hotel served its purpose. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent

Jan 1st, 2020

This hotel has good location and the room was of decent size (we had a room with two double beds). There was no problem with noise during night (considering it is on Manhattan), and the beds were comfortable. As such we got what we need in a room: good nights sleep in good beds. Only disappointment is that we arrived at 15:00 but was told that the room was not ready until 16:00. That was ok, we walked around and had something to eat - but when we returned at 16:10 the room was still not ready. We got quite impatient and was told to wait in the saloon. The room was not ready until after 17:00 and we were tired after a long trip from Europe. The staff compensated us with a complimentary breakfast and ensures bonus points - so we were fairly treated - but the wait was too long. Apologies though to the staff for me getting quite impatient :) All in all I thing this was a fair value for money hotel. We saved approx 500 usd compared to Hilton Midtown for a four nights stay.
