Across the street from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall
Steep daily fee for parking
The Renaissance Philadelphia Downtown Hotel sits within walking distance of one of the best green spaces in Philly. Plus this hotel puts you only steps away from popular tourist attractions like Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, not to mention some trendy restaurants and boutiques. For recent guests, however, one of the best things about this hotel is its welcoming staff and comfortable, large rooms. All accommodations boast premiere amenities like 42-inch flat-screen TVs, coffee makers, cozy robes, premium channels and complimentary wireless internet. Another major asset the hotel has going for it: Azalea Restaurant, which recent patrons applaud for its sophisticated atmosphere and delectable entrees (though they do suggest making reservations far in advance). The only complaint among a few previous visitors is the steep valet parking fee; however most report a pleasant stay overall. If you frequent Marriott properties and take part in their Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program, you may accrue or redeem extra benefits, such as free upgrades.

This totally revamped Renaissance property has a stunningly high-design lobby that mixes in modern with colonial touches for a Benjamin Franklin theme. There are nods to both Franklin and France in its kitchen: Chez Ben and bar: M. (for Madame) Brown's, a sexy aged liquor bar. The spacious rooms, many of which overlook bustling Old City, have free wireless Internet, boutique stylized furniture, flat-screen televisions, and Franklin quoted alarm clocks. All are decorated with clean whites, deep blues, and cream colors.
