Super Nice. Good location.

I was there visiting a friend in a neighboring town, and really liked the location. It was about 20 mins from the airport and right beside the big mall. Walking distance to a lot. Hotel was clean and people were nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

So bad we left

Mar 8th, 2020

Management and service were so poor at Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel that we left without even checking in. We chose this hotel in part because of the convenience of breakfast, beverages, and snacks in the club lounge. An email confirmation from the hotel specifically promised “Guaranteed: Club Lounge Access”. However, we were told upon Saturday check-in that the club lounge is closed on weekends. Routinely, not just this particular weekend. The loyalty points or small credit towards the on-site restaurant offered as compensation did not ease our feeling of being deliberately deceived by management. If the club room is routinely closed on weekends, that should be noted when a weekend reservation is made. The last straw was when, at 4 pm check-in time, we were informed that our room was still occupied by the prior guest. We were offered a nearby, not-as-nice room to wait in until the room we had booked was vacated and cleaned. Eager to be settled after a long day of touring, and with no certainty of when our room would actually be available, we cancelled the entire reservation and went home. This poor experience will make me wary of booking any Marriott hotel in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely Evening

A great hotel with terrific accommodations. Request a view of the Statehouse from an upper floor. My room had a soaking tub which is welcome after hiking all over the City. This is the go to place to stay if you're going to an event at the Vet next door, and if you haven't heard the RI Philharmonic, you're missing a remarkable weekend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful hotel and a great location. Rooms are amazing, and the staff was very friendly as well. Great location with awesome views of the capital building. Valet very convenient and in and out is available for stay. Will definitely make this my go to in Providence. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don’t go there.

Jan 19th, 2020

Stayed there for a hockey tournament. The room was nice and clean. Front desk manager was rude and told us we weren’t able to get a voucher for the valet as we didn’t book through the block. Obviously we were there for the tourney, Many people felt they were not accommodating to the people who stayed for the tourney . Sorry, but I would not recommend this place to anyone. Valet people were nice though. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
