Incredible Honeymoon Resort

Sep 15th, 2019

Having recently returned from our Honeymoon at Rendevous St. Lucia, my wife and I would like to say a big thank you for the first class service we received. This was our first visit to the Caribbean and we'd return in a heartbeat - I doubt this will be our one and only visit to Rendezvous. From the moment we arrived, the staff could not do enough. Each and every team member we encountered appeared to genuinely care about you having a great time. They were polite, friendly and attentive and we very much enjoyed chatting with them. It's little touches that can make all the difference, and the team really know how to hit the mark. The food was delicious and, unless you have incredible will power, expect to come back a little heavier! We've returned with a few more cocktail recipes under our belt and have fond memories of discovering them at the pool bar. If you do feel the need to escape then there's plenty to do with relatively little hassle - the team can point you in the right direction. Ultimately this is a resort that promotes relaxation and switching off. This includes the TV so don't expect to find one in your room. It's pretty clear on the website that this is the case and for good reason. We were quite relieved at the opportunity to switch off. To get the most out of your time here, embrace that vibe as much as possible. It's an an intentional and well thought out feature of the experience...don't panic though as there is wi-fi. If you prefer to stay active then there's plenty to do - all supervised. Watersports, volleyball on the beach, morning walks to the lighthouse with Jordan (absolute dude!). So you can take things at whatever pace you're in the mood for. The spa is a must. Expect to fall asleep! So thanks guys for everything. Beautiful resort and beautiful people. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Simply fantastic!

Sep 14th, 2019

Our second visit to the Rendezvous, and again, it was simply fantastic. The location, the facility, the staff, and all of the restaurants were also, simply fantastic! A special call out to some of the staff that we met, include Tasha, Luigi and Michael ( on the boat), Michael in Concierge. I cannot recommend this hotel any more other than if I could I would rate it 6 out of 5! We will be returning in the future, but in the meantime, thank you to Ms Hylton and all of her fantastic staff, for making our trip another, memorable and unforgettable experience. Perfect boutique hotel

Sep 11th, 2019

We went to the rendezvous for a fortnight upon arrival there was a saxophonist playing, the atmosphere was so relaxing we got a cocktail and our key and went to our garden view room.our room had everything you could possibly need the rendezvous has thought of everything, I was glad to see the robes were of a normal size and not the tiny ones most hotels supply.there was even an umbrella in case of rain.our room was beside my favourite part of the hotel the lazy river , were we spent every afternoon it was so peaceful and sasha kept bringing our cocktails round every so often.the rendezvous staff is the best they will do anything to make you have a great holiday. The level of service is fantastic I loved breakfast time veronica in the terrace how she manages on her own cooking hot breakfasts for everyone any kind of eggs she's cooking them all and also fresh omelettes and never waited more than a few minutes for anything. At the pool in the morning they brought round fruit skewers also popsicles which were lovely and drink service by the pool all day.Taxi price for shopping in rodney bay 50us also point seraphine 20 us taxis are very expensive also excursions very pricey .we had the most perfect relaxing holiday at the rendezvous it's worth every penny and can't wait to return thank you. Paradise Found

Sep 8th, 2019

We have just returned from a week at Rendezvous. I was slightly sceptical before going that the vast majority of reviews were so positive. I can now see why. This is a beautiful and well-run resort, with the biggest asset being its staff. The vast majority of the people we met were wonderful: nothing was too much trouble, names and drink choices were remembered well and there were smiles all round. Including from us. I’d agree with a number of the themes emerging from other reviews: the quality of the food is some of the best I have ever had at an all-inclusive resort, with particular mention going to the Trysting (the only air conditioned restaurant). The Malabar ‘toes in the sand’ restaurant was particularly good for lunch and the Terrace was also excellent for breakfast, as well as the non-buffet nights (although lunch could be a bit hit and miss). The afternoon tea was also very good and recommended on the day you have a large breakfast and skip lunch! Drinks are also excellent and good quality (although avoid the 80% proof rum!). A particular highlight was champagne hour in the Champagne Bar, which was a lovely touch with good quality champagne and a chance to chat with others before dinner. Real credit goes to the staff, particularly the female staff. It was great to hear that so many have them have worked at the resort for such a long time - Veronica (also known as the ‘egg lady’ to some on here!) has been there for well over 20 years and a good number of others are in double digits. It’s great to see they enjoy working there. Remembering your drink preferences, bringing them unprompted and calling you by name are real lovely touches. As an LGBT couple, we found that some - but by no means all - of the male staff were standoffish and you could easily see the difference in the way they interacted with straight couples. This also applied to some of the other guests, who had to quickly backtrack when discovering we were a couple. Worth noting and understandable in the context of St Lucia (insofar as relating to the staff), but does not affect the quality of the resort and we always felt welcomed by the female staff. We also thoroughly enjoyed our visits to the spa, which come highly recommended, with a great team working there. Turning to the rooms, again, they are consistent with others’ reviews. We stayed in a garden room and they were very well maintained and cleaned, with a turndown service each evening (sometimes with music or candles). They had great views and whilst some may say they are tired, this wasn’t something which we had an issue with. The toiletries are of great quality and real effort is made into making this part of the holiday just as good as others. The great thing about this resort compared to others we have stayed at is that everything is close here, so you are still very much part of the action. There are no TVs in rooms, something which one of the guests was complaining loudly about when we were there (which it subsequently seemed extended to complaining about every other element of the resort -sometimes people just get it into their head that they don’t like something and then find every reason not to!) but this is very clear in all the materials available about the resort and something we really quite liked. It should not have come as a surprise. It’s also worth saying that others are right in terms of the people this resort attracts: a slightly older crowd than us (50s/60s), almost entirely British and this is reflected, for example, in the entertainment in the evenings (which is pretty calm). We were the youngest there by some way and one of the things we missed was genuinely connecting with others, as we have elsewhere in the Caribbean, although it’s fair to say that everyone we chatted with was perfectly pleasant. This is a laid back resort dedicated to helping you relax, which was exactly what we were looking for and it delivered on everything we were expecting. Highly recommended for the quality of what it delivers and if the vibe of the resort described above aligns with what you are looking for. It certainly did for us and, in our view, is thoroughly deserving of top marks given. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overall a lovely stay

Sep 7th, 2019

Just returned from our second visit to Rendezvous and overall it was a lovely stay! On arrival we were welcomed by Keegan, a lovely young man! When we were brought to the bar area we explained that we were unable to book our preferred accommodation as it wasn’t available on booking, we’d heard a lot of hype from returning guests about being upgraded on arrival but not for us :) We asked the woman (I wish staff wore name badges) that ‘welcomed” us if we could be upgraded to be told she’d go and check but rooms were full or being refurbished, we were shown to a ground floor garden room and I didn’t like it due to lack of privacy. The following day my husband spoke to the General Manager and asked if we could pay to upgrade to a verandah suite and it was sorted within hours, I asked the rude reception woman why she hadn’t suggested we could pay and why she’d lied about renovations, she denied saying it! Also we were booked into the wrong restaurants which was embarrassing and they were generally unhelpful, for example, can we book a restaurant for 8 please? No! That was the response no alternatives, also very embarrassed when I asked on Wednesday evening if there was a wedding party to be told it’s the returners dinner, no invite for us, they spoilt my time at Rendezvous to be honest! Now the positives love the verandah suites, modern and spacious, the gardens are stunning and well maintained and the lazy river is beautiful! The beach is beautiful and most of the staff are wonderful, Tasha and Bradley were superstars! The food is generally good but I cannot abide flies and they were in the breakfast buffet and the food wasn’t covered up. Shout out to Diana and Francess lovely ladies who made us feel so welcome at the terrace, Malabar was hit and miss and not particularly friendly and service was slow, Carmen and Harry are adorable in Trystings where the food was lovely! The general manager is fab and I probably should have discussed the reception staff with her as she does deal with issues! All of the activity team are brilliant, Jordan and the woman who does aqua aerobics and Joe! So overall a lovely stay but we didn’t find it as friendly as last year and that’s really important to me as I’m a friendly person and expect the same in return. I’d still recommend the resort as its beautiful but some of the reception and bar staff need to be a little more engaging and friendly (this excludes Alise and Guildford they’re fab) thank you for overall a lovely holiday!
