Fantastic Wedding at Fabulous Resort

Jul 16th, 2019

We booked The Rendezvous back in January with Virgin Holidays and booked our Wedding there also through Virgin at the same time. Firstly our Wedding. From the time we arrived we were treated so well, even the young lad who collected our bags knew that we were getting married - very impressive. The wedding team headed by Sandra organised the whole event from taking our outfits to be refreshed, ordering the lovely bouquet and buttonhole, cake etc. nothing was too much trouble even changing the position of our wedding arch on the beach to a different location at the last minute. Sandra was so calm and organised, all we had to do was relax and enjoy the day. The photographers, Ashley and Anderson - well what can we say! they were so professional and captured the most amazing moments right into the sunset. We had a video as well as photographs as our family wasn't there and it was definitely worth having to share the memories with family and friends back home. Thank you Sandra, Tamara and everyone who helped with the day. Now onto the hotel and the honeymoon - all the positive comments that have been said before are so true - fantastic staff, food, location and facilities and we were made to feel as nothing was too much trouble with no false smiles from anyone. The beach staff were great, they kept popping up with cold drinks, cold towels, cocktails, fruit kebabs and real fruit ice pops which were delicious and most welcome. They even swept the sand off the sunbeds and replaced the towels at intervals. There was never any problem getting a sunbed at anytime of day. My wife asked for a fresh coconut and a member of staff went up a tree to get one. How fresh is that? We had a premium garden view room which was fine and liked the birds which visited our balcony for titbits. There are 3 restaurants which people have mentioned before - our favourite was the Trysting as it was air conditioned but had to be booked but no problem doing that. The Terrace restaurant had theme nights with the BBQ being the best (in our opinion). The food was always hot, plentiful and never cold. Again don't pay any attention to the moaners regarding the small number of light planes or the boat moored around a mile away - some people have to moan about something!!! The hospitality suite which can be used on the last day after leaving your room is a nice touch with great showers, drinks facilities and also being air conditioned. so to sum up - if your looking for a smallish hotel (only 100 rooms) and no children around, great food and fantastic staff and attention to detail, this is the place for you. Yes we would and may go back for our 1st Wedding Anniversary and we don't normally go back to the same hotel but this place is exceptional. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Truly a Boutique Couples Resort

Jul 14th, 2019

My Wife and I just spent 7 nights at the beautiful Rendezvous Resort in Castries. This resort came highly recommended by Ruth at TripGuy Travel (Highly Recommend Using her) From the moment we arrived at the resort we felt like family. Many of the staff remembered our name after just the first or second day, checking in on us, making sure our drinks were never empty and truly doing whatever they could to ensure we didn't have to lift a finger on our honeymoon. The food was to die for. 3 restaurants all serving different fare. I highly recommend making reservations at Malabar for the toes in the sand experience, and the Trysting place for a fancier dinner (Men have to wear pants). The resort is the perfect balance between intimate, but not too small. We made friends with a number of couples, and spent time with them both at the beach and the pool, but there is also plenty of time to just relax and be alone. This definitely isn't a party resort, while some people stay up and have some drinks after dinner, the night life isn't something that you would get at a Sandals Resort. Highly recommend early morning walks down the beach, it is beautiful and virtually no one will bother you, and if someone tries to sell you something a simple "No Thanks" Worked in our experience. Cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for great food, great drinks, personable and kind staff, and true relaxation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Only Place We’d Truly Return To

Jul 13th, 2019

Firstly, I’d like to say the person below who’s complained about the ships moored off St Lucia needs to get with the programme. Having been there at the same time I reckon I could pick them out of an identity parade as there was always something wrong (which was annoying if you ended up next to them in the restaurant that incidentally offers an amazing range of food for all tastes) and their review is, at best, clutching at straws, almost as if they’ve got to complain about something. Only thing I would agree with is the comment about the minibar. So on to our thoughts... Stunning resort, stunning location, stunning staff - it’s that simple. The staff go above and beyond to look after you morning, noon and night and the food offering never became tiresome. I’d suggest picking your Malabar and Trysting Place dates to coincide with what you don’t fancy in The Terrace but don’t miss the BBQ evening as that’s very good. We had a beach front room that was worth the extra few quid and were lucky to have a ground floor room that walked straight out onto the beach so again, we’d recommend upgrading. Don’t pay any attention to the haters comments about the cemetery and airport, yeah they’re close but I actually enjoyed seeing the planes go up and there are between 6 and 10 a day so it’s not like being near Heathrow and as for the cemetery, it’s got to go somewhere hasn’t it and you almost have to go off the complex to see it. If I had to find fault with anything, the watersports place is a bit disorganised but I think it just has an air of the St Lucian outlook to life and once I’d got my head round that it was actually okay. So, if you’re reading this whilst considering a visit, don’t listen to the negativity associated with Rendezvous, it really is something special. We always vow to go elsewhere as we want to travel but we will definitely be returning as it would want some beating. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dissappointment with Management

Jul 13th, 2019

I am writing this whilst still in resort. Everything that you read about The Rendezvous is true both good and not so good. The resort is lovely but a little tired, howevet the support staff are excellent and go above and beyond the whole time. I do not want to be unkind but our holiday was somewhat over shadowed by an incident which prompted my partner to write a formal complaint to the management. Two days later our complaint has neither been addressed or even acknowledged. Whilst this has not ruined our holiday we do feel that it would be appropriate for Ms Yhasmine Remy-Hylton, General Manager, to at the very least abide by the same high standards that she sets for her staff and communicate with her guests when necessary. Unfortunately quite disappointed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fabulous Honeymoon Stay

Jul 13th, 2019

Just back from an amazing honeymoon stay at Rendezvous. Beautiful island, fantastic hotel and brilliant staff. Stayed in a veranda suite which is nicely decorated, kept very clean. 💛 the Ren lotions provided! Staff are all lovely, always stop to say hello; the bartenders particularly are super friendly and make you smile. Food is fantastic - it was our first time all inclusive and I had low expectations, but the chefs are excellent. My tips for travellers: take advantage of the excursions on offer by the reps they are great fun and it’s no easier/cheaper to do it yourself due to high taxi prices. A catamaran is a brilliant way to see the beautiful island. Also try out the sister hotel for a day (The Body Holiday) by asking for a free pass at Reception; their Tao restaurant is out-of-this-world (you need to book through the hotel) and it’s interesting to go see their beach and pools (although personally I thought the layout and space at Rendezvous was better for a stay). I’m super picky, so just to mention a few reasons why I couldn’t give this hotel 5 ⭐️ which I hope they take on board: showers should really be more powerful and towels in room larger (you have them by the pool and in your sister hotel?); the Trysting Place needs an update: very old school ‘closed shoe’ dress code just seems out of place, and why close curtains and hide the beautiful island you are on! Malabar is so much better but you need to do something to get rid of the flies at lunch. These are just small things in an otherwise unforgettable trip. Thank you so much - hoping we can return in future for a special anniversary! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
