My stay here was good until I was charged $260 for a smoking fee that was not communicated to me. I feel cheated, robbed and taken advantage of. When I called the corporate office, they left the decision to reimburse me up to the hotel. That is absurd. Where’s the accountability here? I wouldn’t have smoked in this facility if someone had communicated this policy to me. Their excuse was, well sir it’s posted on the doors. Are you serious? What’s worse, is that the manager checked me in and couldn’t communicate that one line that there is no smoking? In my industry, if you drop the ball, you own it. I still got charged and I will never stay in this hotel again. I’ve never had a company try so hard to penny pinch me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overall Disappointed and Livid Being Abandoned by Evening Shuttle Driver

Front office staff (excluding the maintenance person) was friendly and helpful. Was given a very good rate for an extended stay for business. I chose this hotel for the location, kitchenette and shuttle service to nearby areas. The suite was spacious with a kitchenette, and although the counters had been upgraded, the rest of the room needs renovating also. The bathroom sink was clogged when I arrived. Maintenance grudgingly came to unclog it but left the area filthy. The cleanliness of the building hallways and courtyard area are extremely poor. Safety is also a concern as anyone can drive around the property (I saw quite a few show up very early in the morning and asking to be let in). I would not but the far back door didn't lock the last couple of days. Breakfast is provided in the dining room. However, I saw many items, especially milk, not being kept cold and left out for hours, and many hot items were not kept hot. The cleanliness was lacking in the dining room as well. Counters and tables were often dirty. I stopped eating breakfast there because of those concerns. The biggest problem I experienced was waiting for one hour (less than 1/2 mile away) for the shuttle one evening. When I called a few times to check when the shuttle would arrive was told each time they'll arrive shortly. It never showed up (driver was the maintenance person I wrote about earlier). I was livid! I could easily have gotten an Uber/Lyft, which I ended up doing that evening and the next. The last two days the assistant manager came to get me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Had good luck with Residence Inn, however..Residence Inn, Dallas needs some updates, new and more washers and dryers. Ice maker didn’t work. Beds are always comfortable. Nice place but ...location is a bit tricky but location is good for what i needed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great value, great stay

Our room was large and clean, the property was nice, and we enjoyed the free breakfast. All things considered, we had a great experience and would stay here again. Great value for the price. Amenities included a basketball court and a pool, though we weren’t around much to use them. Breakfast included make-your-own waffles, oatmeal, eggs, pancakes, crispy bacon, etc. Location is very close to the 635 freeway. Saw some reviews complaining about the neighborhood, but we had no problems or concerns. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Surgical follow up - Medical City Children's Hospital

We came to Dallas for an annual follow up from a surgical procedure a year ago on my 2-year old granddaughter. This is the hotel we stayed at during the original surgery, which was wonderful. We made a mistake and reserved a less accommodating hotel this time. Fortunately we were able to cancel that reservation and move to this hotel. I cannot explain our gratitude for the entire staff; however, one gentleman at the front desk, “Ellis” was amazing!!! He not only assisted us in the sudden reservation change, he gave us a wonderful rate and a fantastic family suite to accommodate a family of five. He was extremely kind, compassionate and professional. The facility is clean, the food provided is wonderful and the staff is amazing. You can be sure we will stay here at my granddaughters next follow up. P.S. As we were checking out, Ellis pulled out a toy that my granddaughter lost in the food lounge. We never noticed it was gone, but Ellis knew who the toy belonged to ... now that is a personal touch ... thank you Ellis!!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
