Awful awful awful

We always stay and trust the Marriott hotels but NOT this one. Huge spider and webs all over the windows, a few dead bugs in our room too. Front manager says new ownership is trying to fix things. Well let’s start with all the leaves from last fall that we’re in front of our doorway and sidewalk. Breakfast selection was poor as well. And they had a tip jar sitting out on the counter. Geez. I can’t believe the Marriott name is allowing this place to operate using their good, trusted name. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overnight OK

The staff saved this place from one star. Excellent front desk interaction as we rolled up around 8pm on August 13th. Good guidance on room selection and restaurants in the area. Room was good enough for the night though it could use a deep clean. Housekeeping was ok but grates are dirty, under pullout bed had stuff left behind by cleaner. For a night, for the price? Worst Marriot Stay I have ever had (Ambassador level)

I stay in a Marriott in excess of 150 nights a year and am Ambassador level. This includes plenty of stays at other Residence Inn. I have always been pleased with Marriott and NEVER compelled to leave a negative review—-until now. I called 1 week in advance to note that I was traveling with dogs and requested a ground floor room. They were very pleasant on the phone and said no problem. I checked in on the App the day prior and then arrived at 9pm. No notes on the reservation about dogs, no request noted for first floor and of course we had a second floor room. They desk staff said they were full and could not change it. The check in woman was pleasant and did not know why the requests were not noted but also did nothing to remedy the failures and did not really apologize. We got to the room and the keys did not work so my family and dogs had to stand there while I drove back to the main building to get the keys programmed again. Got back to the room to find no linens for the convertible sofa bed. Now I reserved for 4 people and checked in in advance. I also have extra towels on my profile. All the other Marriotts always have extra towels in the room. I had to drive back to the main building again to collect towels (only 3 in the room) and linens. We had been on the road for 10 hours and just wanted to check in and go to bed. This property is dirty and furniture is stained. It is not well maintained. Honesty this is not up to Marriott standards and this is a failure of local management. A change is needed. You read all the reviews below mine with complaints and apologies and promises to work on issues to remedy them but it is lip service. They will not change a thing. Business as usual at a property that should not wear a Marriott badge. The local management honestly does not care even for people who are very brand loyal and spend a lot of money with Marriott. I am only reading these bad reviews now because I have had such good luck with Marriotts over the years, I never think to check. You always know you are going to get excellent Marriott hospitality and facilities—not true here. Find somewhere else to stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Run, don’t walk!

We spent one night here as part of a family reunion and were it not for the fact that a large group of us had rooms, we would have left upon arrival. Our room was dirty (food on the kitchen floor, rubbish on the carpet, and dirty dishes in the cupboard). When the family started comparing notes, it was clear that everyone’s room was dirty. One family was moved twice! For the record, I had not read reviews of this place in advance of this trip. I certainly should have done so. What’s really troubling is that this has clearly been a problem for years. Ugh. I can’t believe that Marriott hasn’t disaffiliated with this location. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Unkempt grounds and non-responsive manager

When I woke up the next morning I noticed that I had parked my car right next to a broken liquor bottle and that there were cigarette butts littered all over the place. The parking lot still had upswept leaves which would be understandable if it was the fall but this was in July. On the second day I noticed that the dirty linen was left in the hallway outside my room by the housekeeping and was still there in the morning. I went to the front desk to voice my concerns and was told that the manager would call me but that never happened. I logged on to the Marriott website (I am a Silver Elite member) to provide feedback and noticed that someone else filled a similar negative feedback three weeks earlier and that the manager responded back apologizing and stated that it would be addressed but obviously that never happened. I called Marriott Customer Support and provided explicit details of my experience, was assigned claim #144650788 and told that the manager would reach out to me. That never happened, I eventually got an email from Marriott Customer Service with an apology and awarded 2500 points. That means that if this happens to me nine more times I would have enough points to stay one night at an average hotel (Category 4). Very disappointed with the conditions and even more disappointed with Marriott's responsiveness. Hilton will be my future first choice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
