Great Stop on our Trip

I stayed with my mother and sister on our way down to NC for a wedding in October. Staff was great, always someone to talk with. We had a long day of travel and found the rooms comfortable and slept well. Breakfast was great. Standard hot buffet that was complimentary. I would highly recommend staying here. Only hold up was the steep road to the property was very jarring. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

WE have stayed here 5 or 6 times over the years on our way south. It is just perfectly located for that, and it has always been great. The place is great, the staff friendly, and we would continue to stay here BUT.... noticed my wife's allergies seemed to get worse here. Didn't really think about it until we noticed a bunch of dogs one time, and then we learned it is pet friendly. EVERY ROOM is pet friendly. Now people say they clean the rooms carefully, and I believe it, but you know you can't get it all. So we are disappointed that we will be looking for another hotel next spring and fall. If yu aren't allergic, I recommend this place highly. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Roaches in the Room!

We haves stayed here in the past and had no issues. We recently stayed here in our way home from SC. When we got to our 2 room suite we noticed right away bugs on the bathroom sink and they were crawling everywhere. We noticed 5-6 bugs in the first room. We went to the front desk and we were moved to another room on the other side of the hotel for a discounted rate. We were in that room no longer then 2-3 minutes and we found more bugs! We packed up the kids and got a refund and went to a different hotel. The manager said they were having a stink bug problem. Instead of arguing with them we kindly left. Everyone knows a stink bug when you see one. These were not! I won’t be recommending this hotel or chain to anyone any time soon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great customer service

Great customer service is always important to me. The staff at Residence Inn, Charleston has been awesome and very accommodating. I believe this location's aim is to ensure their visitors are as comfortable as possible and will return given the opportunity. The hotel is not very new but the rooms are very clean. Kudos to Charolette (breakfast), Melinda (front desk supervisor) Greg (the GM) for Awesome Customer Service. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Staff was nice, hotel difficult to find

This hotel is off the beaten path up on a hill overlooking the city. Despite being a non-smoking hotel, our first room did smell of smoke and we were placed in a room overlooking the pool even though we had requested a quiet location. Staff was willing to move us when we went back down to discuss the two issues. Windows open wide in this hotel, so it was nice to get some fresh air and not run the somewhat noisy ac unit. Marriott certainly did NOT spend much money on hotel signage, laughable once you actually find the tiny signs leading to the hotel. Room is furnished with a kitchen utensils, plates and a refrigerator, which would be convenient if you are staying for a bit. Shout out to the housekeeping staff as room was very clean. We were supposed to get a $30 discount because of our inconvenience of having to move rooms, but that never materialized on our bill. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
