Excellent Downtown Location

Feb 26th, 2020

The property is fairly old but well maintained. The location near downtown and the University of Oregon as well as close to Springfield business area, is ideal. The best feature of this place is the great employees who care about customer experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very nice place

Nov 24th, 2019

This is a much older property but it has been renovated and is in very good condition. The rooms are nicely laid out and have bathtubs. Yay! The breakfast is excellent with a large selections eggs, sausages, oatmeal, fruit, bagels etc. the staff I met are quite friendly. The location is somewhat far removed ... Across from the river with walking trails, a nice park with geese and beautiful bridges. Without a car you can rely on public transit only a ten minute drive away to downtown restaurants ...the only restaurant within walking distance is mcminamans a pub tiki bar place across the did not look appealing to me. Definitely I will return....the grounds are well kept. And it seemed quiet providing for a good sleep. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don't stay here if your date co incides with a Ducks football game

Nov 19th, 2019

This is an older style Marriott Residence property that has been maintained very well. We had great difficulty getting in the hotel parking lot due to a home football game at the University stadium which is walking distance away. The local police actually blocked off any entry from the Interstate! What a mess! Once we did get to the front desk, the agent greeted us by challenging us to prove our room rate discount! As a top rung Titanium Marriott member, I was surprised to be treated this way. This would be just the 2nd time in over 1200 lifetime nights that this has happened! Way to go to alienate a long term customer! The room was good with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was also well done. There won't be a next time for us though at this location though. Decent choice in Eugene

Sep 22nd, 2019

This was our second stay at the Residence Inn in Eugene. This time we were in a room at the back of the property. The room was large with 2 bedrooms and a living area. This time the the train woke me up with horns at 4:30 am. The first time we stayed here I didn't hear the train late at night or early in the morning but we were in another part of the hotel. There might not be any part of Eugene where you can't hear the train in the middle of the night. The hotel's walls are thin. I sometimes heard voices in other rooms and it sounded like a waterfall when the room above us flushed the toilet or was in the shower. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The A/C was louder than a jet engine

Sep 10th, 2019

The good: Hotel is in a great location. There is a paved trail that runs along the Willamette River just across the street from the hotel. The staff is super friendly, professional and helptul The property is well maintained and clean Parking is plentiful The bad: The air conditioner in the room was louder than a jet engine. Out of hundreds of stays, this was by far the loudest air conditioner unit. Our solution was to keep the A/C off when we went to sleep, and thankfully it was a cooler night, but the room still got a bit warm. Breakfast was standard Residence Inn fare, and the staff were attentive and kept the items stocked. Pet fee of $75 is a bit steep if you are staying 1 night, but is not even close to the worst we have encountered. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
