I recently have had several stays at this very comfortable property in Connecticut. The rooms have been spotless and sanitized . A credit to the housekeepers and their Supervisors. I must say a good word about Brian at the front desk . He’s a terrific ambassador for the property and the Marriott brand . Energetic , smiling , helpful , neighborhood knowledgeable and extraordinarily pleasant to deal with . He’s got a bright future in hospitality . As a frequent business traveler I also want to compliment Mary Kay Manchin the property’s GM. Personally involve involved in every facet of the operation , she is truly a pleasure to work with . Sensitive to travelers crazy and ever changing schedules she is a gem to deal with . Accommodating and always cordial to her guests ...she too is an amazing brand ambassador for her hotel and Marriott . This is going to be my home base hotel whenever I’m in the area for business or pleasure ! Bob Ungar TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
The only place I’ll stay!!!

I have stayed in many hotels and cannot think of one where I’ve received as much personal attention! Even though the world is a little crazy on the outside right now, you’d never know it staying here. This amazing staff is working overtime to make every stay great and every guest feel attended to. Everyone is so friendly and it’s such a great family atmosphere from the General Manager to the housekeepers and front desk agents and everyone in between. I’ve stayed here many times and it’s been a great experience every single time! In a world with so many choices of where to stay nowadays - the choice for me is easy as I can’t imagine going anywhere else! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Highs.. and Lows All in One Suite

Got off to a bit of a bad start. The seemingly charming front desk person assigned us (2 seniors and a senior dog) to a suite on the top floor at the furthest back corner of the hotel with the only windows in the room right on the superhighway. Closest parking lot to the room required a trip across the hotel to get to the elevators unless one wanted to tote all bags and self up three flights of stairs. Road noise was very bad, so we requested a change. He said "Sorry 'bout that and assigned us an equally inaccessible room directly across the hall. Like being on a top floor but do not like not having accessibility and noise issues explained so we can make an informed decision on location. Loved the fresh new look of our suite and the comfy sectional with lots of access to plugs for our electronics and tables for our beverages. Excellent mini kitchen with good coffee maker, generous sized microwave and fine small refrigerator. But on the downside, even our "quiet" room--which was much quieter than the first because it faced the front of the hotel and a heavily traveled main road instead of a superhighway would have been too noisy in the morning for anyone who cannot deal with traffic noise. The lamps gave good light but took a rocket scientist (me) to find the on/off switch. Good workspace, although the work chair blocked the tv a bit from the view from the sectional. Very comfy bed that was on the harder side. Bathroom was kind of pitiful--toilet didn't flush right from the get-go and we finally called for help (which came in the form of a very nice man who fixed it quickly) when it stopped up. Tub was small and chipped and did not look updated. Despite the minuses, might well stay there again because the on-off access to main roads is so good and the room was overall so comfy. Dogs are allowed for a $50 upcharge and there is no charge for the non-secure wi-fi. I suggest that the hotel management do some thinking about room assignment training and the accessibility issue. There are several things that have thrown me off with this hotel. For various reasons I have recently been at 5 other hotels. The front lobby should have automatic doors, for people with a lot of luggage, people with strollers, people traveling alone with no help, wheelchairs, etc. Secondly, upon checking into my room I took the elevator up, and the entire hallway smelled of buffalo chicken wings. When going into my room it smelled of dog/mold. I went to open the window to find a dead ladybug, dog slobber or kids fingerprints all over the window. It seems the room was given a quick clean over many many times in a row. The table and bedside tables had drippings/drink marks on them. The thermostat was so dirty it was discolored. Besides the cleanliness, the rooms need a revamp, they are clearly aged. The bathroom has mold on the walls, the ceiling is peeling, the grout is severely discolored, the furniture is all scratched and marked up and looks weathered. I must say, after all of the high stars this hotel has received I am very thrown off as to how it could. The one good thing is the lady at check-in was pleasant when walking through the doors... 2 nights with the hockey team. Great rate for a good property. Easy on/off from I-84. Can hear the highway in the room, but its not horrible. Suite was excellent - brown carpet show some wear, but rest of room was in good shape. Breakfast was above standard. Very responsive staff. Kitchen lighting was dark; rest of room was OK. I'd stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
