Lots of Space, Worn out Rooms

There was a lot to like about this place. We got a 2 bedroom suite, which was very spacious! Loved having a separate room and bathroom for our older kids, a pull out sofa for our youngest, and a room bathroom to ourselves! 3 TV's was great too! Everything seemed clean. Due to COVID, the indoor pool was by reservation only, and it was easy to reserve and it was nice having the pool to just our family. Breakfast was limited due to COVID - Frozen Jimmy Dean Sausage Sandwiches or microwavable pancakes along with yogurt, granola bar, and packaged fruit. After staying here a family member asked if they should stay there for a Staycation and I was hesitant to recommend it, despite the big rooms and decent service. Why? The furniture in the room (the chairs, couch, beds, etc.) all felt worn out and old. The "king bed" (which was clearly just two twins side-by-side) was not very comfortable and obviously sunk in the middle. The kitchen chairs were ripped and ragged. The box springs on the bed were uncovered - no bed skirt...kinda gross. The sofa was very uncomfortable, because the cushions were so worn out, ripped and tattered that they didn't really fit together anymore. The sofa bed was one of the worst I've seen. I think it was 99% springs. Also, the main light in the kitchen was not working, uncovered, and we were informed that no maintenance staff was working so we'd have to do without. Our room was in a corner that was right next to the freeway. Not the best view, but the noise wasn't as bad as we expected. So would I stay here again? Yes, if the furniture and rooms get renovated. If not, I think I'll pass. Just average right now. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quick visit

This was a nice hotel. Nothing to special but the room offered a separate sitting area from the bedroom and included a fridge, microwave and stove. Regular shower/tub combo. The employees were friendly. The hotel shuttle to the airport was available on demand. The gym was a bit tiny and the pool was either broken or needed a good cleaning. The hotel was about 7 miles from downtown which is like a $15 Uber ride. No safe in room TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Terrible Service

We were booked at the Courtyard hotel next-door, but were moved to the Residence Inn because they could not accommodate us at the Courtyard (Covid, maybe?). Check in was ok, but rude. They have a blue tape line on the floor that you can not cross and can not approach the counter, you could tell that the staff wanted no part in interacting with customers at all. The rooms were fine - nothing special. A typical extended stay place. We went to the airport to drop off our rental car the night before we flew out, as we had planned on using the shuttle to the airport the next morning. We sat at the airport for over an hour after calling for the shuttle. Finally, a Hyatt Place shuttle showed up (not labeled as Residence Inn or Marriott at all). The driver said that the normal shuttle had been in an accident several months ago and they haven't labeled the new van yet. He also said that he drives that shuttle for 5 hotels and a trucking company, so there are times that it takes an hour to get picked up. We then asked at the desk about the shuttle for the next morning, and were told that the van may be available, and it may not. They could not guarantee us getting picked up at 5:30am for a ride to the airport. This is simply not acceptable - we may be able to make our flight and we may miss it as the van service is not reliable. We booked a car service instead and paid for it ourselves. We were also told that there would be coffee and to-go breakfasts in the lobby before we left. When we got to the desk the next morning, the girl at the desk was rather rude and said that she does not make coffee, and that there were no to-go bags ready yet. All in all, very disappointing stay and we hope not to be back. Although I guess with these hotels it doesn't matter where you book, they will move your reservation and you may end up at a hotel that you didn't want to be at in the first place. Room not clean, fitness center missing basic amenities, but the breakfast was great!

I wish I could write a more positive review of this hotel. The location near the airport is convenient and the front desk staff could not be more helpful. The breakfast was better than most hotels of similar type and quality. Our room, however, looked clean - but was not. The surfaces were dusty and the grossest part was finding a previous guest's swimsuit haning over the shower rod! The fitness center was small (which was expected) but missing both sanitizing wipes and towels - though there were placeholders for both. Fortunately, we were only there one night - but I would not recommend this hotel. I've stayed at otherMarriott brand airport hotels that were cheaper and just as convenient - without any of these issues. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Service is not good here

I know that we should not expect much of a residence Inn, but they failed on many basic levels. On Jan 1st the room service was not full service and actually they never showed up. We should have paid 1/2 fare also since they never told us. Breakfast ends at 9am! And they take everything down at 9am not a minute more! Not enough plates and the happy hour announced is simply not done! The attitude in the front desk leaves to desire better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
