Perfect if you don’t mind walking

Jan 5th, 2020

We spent two nights here at the very end of December. There were 7 of us, and we rented a 2 bedroom suite, which was perfect. The price was reasonable, the room was very clean and nice- no complaints there at all. The staff was all super friendly. We arrived after dark and decided to valet park the car (the next day we found a free parking lot a block and a half away). I felt that $15/day was reasonable for valet service, not a big deal. We were 8 blocks from River Street. We don’t mind some walking, and we like looking at things along the way, so that was fine with us. We felt plenty safe, and we were women and children only. We ate breakfast both days, and it was really good! We also enjoyed a mixer one night- free beer, wine, and snacks! I definitely enjoy Marriott properties overall, and this one did not disappoint. Just bring your walking shoes, and enjoy! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very good overall

Dec 30th, 2019

Excellent staff—friendly and responsive. Single smallish dresser in living area instead of in bedroom. No full length mirror. Nice very high ceilings so it feels roomy. Poor floor plan for 1 bedroom—long narrow living area which is not good for social interAction. Very nice Common area and morning breakfast options. Dog friendly was a plus. At the edge of historic district. No problem walking to attractions but some might prefer to be more central. We were able to find an on-site parking space and save $16 daily parking charge with valet service. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Some serious Southern Hospitality!!!

Love me a beautiful hotel that also treats my dog like a valued guest!! We were warmly greeted by the hotel valet, Cleveland, who also directed us to the Crystal Beer Parlor, a great local bar/eatery just a couple blocks away (serving up his ‘favorite wings’:). The rooms are comfy, clean and well appointed and the staff friendly and eager to help. Top location in the historic district with a lovely courtyard and pool. Our fav place to stay in Savannah!!! Good hotel but there are some issues

Dec 23rd, 2019

We visited Savannah often but this was our first time staying at Residence Inn Savannah Downtown. Our arrival experience was very good. Front desk staff and the valet were warm and friendly. We were assigned a lower floor cottage unit - contrary to my strong preference for a higher floor room. I am a light sleeper and easily bothered by noises. As I feared it, at 1am, the upper floor guests came back and talked loudly. The foot steps and talking vibrated down to the first floor. It was terrible. Also, the water is the bath tub won't recede quickly and we literally had to stand in an ankle deep dirty water when we are done showing. Also, the location of the hotel is actually quite far away from the center of the activities. All in all, this is nice establishment but there are issues that made our stay not very satisfactory. We checked out the next day and moved to another Marriott establishment which is so much more comfortable and convenient. I do agree that this Residence Inn made an extra effort to provide good breakfast. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed here for SCAD weekend trip

Booked via Hotwire and got a GREAT deal - would highly recommend this. Hotel is not directly in Historic District but just few blocks away, and you can take the free Dot shuttle which is very helpful. Valet parking at $15/day is half the price of other hotels. Wish they had a hot tub instead of just an outdoor pool. The outside fire pit was never lit but would have been a fun place to hang out. Breakfast is hot food, better than most free breakfast, but is was the same selection over all 3 days. Lobby and room were clean, excellent decor, comfy beds, nice bathroom area, and full kitchen. Would recommend this hotel! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
