I am a rewards member and stayed here one night while traveling to Tampa. I had made a reservation 2 weeks earlier for a cottage overlooking the courtyard. We arrived at 10pm and was given apologies because our room had to be downgraded and it was a management decision. It was disappointing but I agreed to the downgrade. We also happened to be traveling with another couple who were not points members and had booked a room after I did. I learned from them their initial room booking was upgraded to a nicer room with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. This was not a good way to leave a good impression with a points member, and we will stay elsewhere next time. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great spot in Savannah!
Nov 3rd, 2020
We stayed here for a quick vacation and loved it! Room was very spacious and clean. The front desk was able to accommodate an early check in for us which was great! When speaking with Valet, there was even a spot up front that he told us we could use for free if we were not planning on moving the car and risk losing the spot! Super grateful for that! The hotel is in a great spot where you can walk to the river in about 15 minutes. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Nice place to stay
Oct 29th, 2020
We stayed at the Residence in and were pretty happy with it. The staff are super friendly, especially Clevland who is the valet. The place is very clean and well run. The grab and go breakfast is nice. Our only complaint was that the bed is not the most comfy but we are also bed snobs so that's not a big deal. I would stay here again without hesitation. Very convenient location. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Worn, dated, bad service and location!
Oct 19th, 2020
Upon our late Friday evening arrival for three nights, we were given a room on the ground floor facing the street, which is not what we requested in our reservation or in my Marriott profile. We were told the hotel was sold out and the room could not be changed. Based on the lack of cars parked in the valet lots and number of people we saw in the hotel, no way. Our room was very worn, dated and not very clean. The hotel location is in downtown Savannah but is the furthest from tourism spots, about a 15-20 min walk. There is no maid service or food/beverage service either. The hotels website lists both as part of the reservation. I understand COVID changes how business may handle certain aspects, but at least let us know at the reservation and check in. I asked to speak to the hotel GM but go the assistant manager with an attitude. Asked for the GM to call me, no call. You would think Marriott lifetime Gold Elite member may warrant a little better experience. I would avoid this hotel based on the lack of quality of facilities, location and customer service. On a good note, Dennis and Cleveland the valets were very nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
COVID-19 Procedures Not Being Followed
Oct 1st, 2020
This property is not compliant with the Marriott Cleanliness Procedures laid out on its corporate website to prevent the spread of COVID-19 for the health and safety of guests/employees. Employees at this hotel are NOT wearing masks, or if they are, they are not covering both their nose AND mouth. Valet staff is not wearing a mask at all. Had to ask the valet to put on a mask before getting inside my car. The room was filthy dirty with dog hair all over the floor and couch, leads me to believe that there is no way the room could have been property sanitized if it wasn't even properly cleaned? Dog hair everywhere, crumbs on the floor, trash under the kitchen sink leftover from the previous guests. Based on all of the above, if you are concerned about your health and safety and think that staying at a hotel with exterior entrance/exits will keep you safe, I wouldn't book this property with a false sense of security. My family will be tested for COVID-19 this week after staying at this property. I have shared these concerns with the hotel manager as well as Marriott corporate. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
