A good choice

Feb 19th, 2020

Close to most everything in the Historic District, and the suite was great. Nice little kitchen. Free breakfast, too. The staff is great, the room was very clean and we didn't have any problems at all. Well, other than the little dog that pooped on the floor in the lobby! All was good TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A good option

Feb 16th, 2020

Residence Inn is not in the heart of the Historic District, but it’s just on the outskirts and very walkable to everything in the District. The suites are spacious and have high ceilings and the bed was comfortable. Overall, the property was dated, though well-kept. Breakfast is included, which is nice, and there’s also an evening wine and snack event. There’s a small outside pool, and a tiny fitness room with little more than a rack of free weights and treadmills. I found it neither high value or low value for the price, but it certainly was comfortable and worked well for my visit to the Historic District. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

It’s okay

Feb 12th, 2020

Spent a couple of nights in one of the cottage units. The grounds are well-kept and the staff was courteous and helpful. The counter surfaces in the kitchen and bath were noticeably worn as were furnishings in the room although the bed was comfortable. The deadbolt on one of the rooms two doors did not work. The bathtub was slippery. The room’s HVAC were very noisy when it ran. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Key card/elevator issue

Feb 9th, 2020

The room was wonderful! Great pillows! One elevator was out of service and the key card to go out the side door to the car did not work either any of the nights, we were there 3 nights. We mentioned it after the first time and there was no change. Parking was $27.00 a day. There is a bar on the first floor. They served wine in a water glass because they didn’t have any clean wine glasses. Not too professional but the wine was very good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Savannah Overnight Getaway

Feb 6th, 2020

We checked into RI Sav/Dwtn/Historic, on Monday, Feb 3rd, for an overnight getaway. At check-in Marcia was wonderful and booked us into a room on the 2nd floor. My wife was not pleased with an odor in the room ( I did not notice it) so, we went back down and Marcia gladly changed us to a similar room on the 2nd floor; my wife was pleased with the room (happy wife, happy life). Of course, this RI has all the amenities other RIs have: breakfast, workout, evening snack/meal with complimentary beer and wine (Mon-Thu). If you haven't been to historic Savannah before parking is a premium. This means a daily valet parking fee ($15); worth it! The lobby and ground were beautiful. Unfortunately, we did not get up for the complimentary breakfast (this was an overnight getaway and we slept in). If you've never stayed at a Residence Inn, the beds are amazingly comfortable; RI Sav Historic is no exception. This RI is 8 blocks from Bay St a walking distance of about 15-20 minutes depending upon your pace. We checked in on a beautiful 74 degree day and walked to Bay St and down to River St. We arrived back to the RI just after the evening meal had completed but complementary beer, wine, and soft drinks were still available; we grabbed a few and went to our room. A quick note about our room on the second floor. The hotel is beautiful, but is showing some wear. In our room (206), we noted that wallpaper in a corner was beginning to peel up. This did not detract from the appearance of the room. I did not notice until the morning before we checked out. The hotel is not rundown. In fact, upon checking we noticed a contractor loading materials, on the 2nd floor, for work within the building. Is this a remodel? We did not notice any noise of work being done. Thanks Residence Inn Savannah Historic for a wonderful stay. We will be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
