Average nothing special

Aug 14th, 2019

This is an okay Residence Inn, but nothing special. check-in was fast and reasonably friendly. Room was okay. Shovel took me to some nearby restaurants, but it was a pretty barren part of town. Swimming pool was nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

New policy for park and fly guests

Jul 26th, 2019

Before I begin this review, I need to say that park and fly guests pay a higher rate for the guest rooms than non-park and fly guests. Presume this to be for the privilege of using their hotel parking lot and the use of their shuttle service to the airport. Non-park and fly guests still get access to these same services. For so many years, this was our go-to hotel for our "pre" and "post" flight hotel stay-overs but, sadly, no more. Since our last visit, the new "policy" now says any stays exceeding 7 nights need to involve the non-hotel off-site airport parking lot service. To the hotel and management, I say, there are more fish in the pond and your hotel will not see any more of our travel business. They tell us they have a "special arrangement" with the public parking lot (whatever that means). We can (and did) do better when we planned our next travel plans and cancelled our future stay at the Residence Inn Tucson Airport.. Being curious, I did walk the lot and counted up the parking spaces. I came up with 135 regular spaces and 5 handicapped spaces and there were 2 long spaces for trailers. Upon check-in, there are no parking passes issued for the hotel's registered vehicles. It begs the question: who is patrolling the spaces and where does it say they will tow you? The hotel advertises that it has 124 rooms. The parking lot has 140+ spaces. Has this been an issue for them in the past? The facility has been managed by Texas Western Hospitality for maybe ten or more years and the owner is Real Estate Investment Trust Apple. To them we say, you have lost a loyal Marriott brand regular and we won't be coming back. In the future, we'll be staying at the Town Place Suites in the immediate area. The hospitality get-together (hour and a half) is pleasant, we enjoyed the breakfasts, and we have no complaints about the quality of our room or the staff who welcomed us. It is just that, when we travel, we need more flexibility than the 7-night window to which this location limits their residents. This whole policy-thing of directing guests to park across the street in a park and fly lot is just not acceptable. Bye bye, Residence Inn, you'll not see us here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good hotel if you like Fox News

Jul 25th, 2019

The room was very nice, the hotel was clean and the breakfast was good. However, the TV in the breakfast area is always set to Fox News. When I asked about it the woman at the front desk just shrugged and said I could sit somewhere else. Since I don't enjoy divisive politics and yelling with my breakfast, I'll be staying somewhere else on my future business trips to the Tucson area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don’t trust their advertised airport shuttle service

Jul 19th, 2019

This hotel, which is 5 minutes from the Tucson airport, advertises itself as having an airport shuttle service, on demand. Don’t trust it if you plan to stay and park there. They have subbed the shuttle service out, and upon returning last night we’re kept waiting at the airport over 40 mins, despite 4 phone calls and a lot of what turned out to be empty promises. It’s not worth it stay somewhere else that has their own reliable shuttle. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Convenient to Airport. Super friendly and helpful staff.

May 8th, 2019

As a residence inn, the amenities were very good. The location is very convenient to the airport. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Every single employee greeted me warmly. It started with the desk clerk, the cleaning staff, and the person preparing the breakfast. For example, I accidently dropped a bagel with cream cheese on the floor. By the time I retrieved the bagel, the staff was there to take it away and offered a new one to me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
