3 Night Stay, Family very comfortable

Jul 17th, 2019

Two families in our group stayed during a short educational vacation to visit Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown. We each had two queen bed suites which were comfortable. Breakfast was exactly as I expected...the staff worked diligently every morning to keep all things full and fresh! There was a different employee behind the counter every evening...some more friendly than others. I would definitely stay again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very friendly, mostly comfortable

Jun 28th, 2019

ALL of the staff here are very friendly and helpful! The hotel is clean and everything that was supposed to be available and in our room was in place. Breakfast was included and was respectable. Lots of options, and a couple different things each day. I will say the hotel is showing some wear and tear. The sofa in our room was not comfortable, thankfully we didn't need the pull out couch for anyone to sleep on, I don't think it would have been comfortable based on the condition of the sofa. Also, there was a gas grill available to use, but the handle was broken off. Finally, The pool is fairly small, and while we were there the sister hotel, Springhill Suites, across the way was having it's pool repaired, so their guests were also using the pool. Stayed near parks

Jun 28th, 2019

We stayed in a one bedroom double queen suite. Size was great, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good, not great, but good. It's located near restaurants but we've stayed closer to the parks. Solid 15 mins to parks. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Jun 4th, 2019

Having coming from the Residence Inn in Florence SC there is room for improvement here. Missed having real plates, cups and silverware at breakfast. Staff is wonderful as was our room upgrade that included a fireplace (which we use). TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not worthy of Marriott Branding

May 7th, 2019

I rarely want to review a hotel, but this one left me so unimpressed I didn't want to let it pass. I'm hoping Marriott will send out one of their random surveys as well so that I can make sure to put a review on their site as well. Just for some background I love Marriotts and in particular their Residence Inn brand. Last year in fact I had 75 nights in various Marriotts. As of today, May 7th 2019 I'm up to 33 nights for the year. So, what didn't I like about this hotel. #1) It wasn't clean. Maybe that's overstating it to some degree, it very well may have been clean, but it didn't have the appearance of cleanliness. The couch was stained all over, my white comforter had numerous brownish yellow stains and there were a few pubic hairs in the bathroom sink. #2) The room smelled. Clearly at some point this hotel allowed smoking. My room wreaked of it. #3) It's just a dated hotel and coupled with being more of a tourist hotel it's beat to crap. No USB ports either. #4) Speaking of no USB ports, the Free WiFi is non existent. While I was here for a fun weekend away I did have some work to do the Friday of my stay. I had to travel to another Marriott nearby and work in their lobby. #5) As I mentioned earlier I stay in Marriotts a lot. This last on my list, but there is a reason why I only stay in one brand every where I go and it is important at least to me at some level. The last day of my stay I had to come back because my wife lost our key. I was informed in a rather matter of fact way that we were past our chek out time and she would have to check with the manager. I never check in to any Marriott without requesting my 4PM checkout time that goes along with Titanium Status. I didn't care for the approach she took. I didn't get my upgraded WiFi ( I would have accepted any serviceable wifi ) and the Welcome Gift was missing too. If you are a Marriott Rewards (now Bonvoy) member I'd skip this hotel. If you aren't and just want a nice place to stay in Williamsburg I'd skip it too. There are too many other choices. Oh, and it's way too expensive for what it is. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
