No problems when we stayed here. CLEAN and QUIET hotel. Room was clean. Lobby was clean as well. Better than most hotels I stayed in. Didn't find nothing wrong with room. LaTara A. is an excellent example of what customer service is about. Helpes me with my coffee pick me up. Very nice employee. Thank you LaTara and staff. ☺☺☺☺ TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Service, location and cleanliness

We checked in Friday 8/21 @ 9pm by the friendliest guest services rep who was in the midst of dealing with rude customers. She kept her professional demeanor and kind tone. The room was Amazing with fully loaded kitchen. Breakfast was plentiful and safe during these COVID days. Tara was absolutely a refreshing delight to encounter each morning with her bubbly personality and helpfulness. We plan to definitely come back here. Location is in walking distance to downtown restaurants. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Terrible customer service

I booked my 1 night stay for the Residence Inn downtown Birmingham for checking-in July 18th. I booked through my credit card’s points, so 3rd party. I also booked specifically a 1 bedroom suite for my family. The suite is what led us do this property at this time. So we check in at the front desk and get our keys to our room and go up to the room. The room is a studio. I immediately call down to the front desk and speak with the lady that had just checked us in. I made her aware that this wasn’t the room that we booked. She said that they were completely sold out of 1 bedroom suites and that I needed to contact my credit card company or the points company through which I booked. She said they should contact her then. So we sat down so I could do that. That takes maybe 15 minutes. The lady with the credit card company said that the hotel wouldn’t refund our points because we had entered the room. So we decide to just leave because the hotel was very smoky. I stopped to speak with this same lady at the front desk. I was upset because when she checked us in she never reviewed the type of room we had. If she had done so, then I would not have even taken the keys. She never indicated it was a studio. We only sat on the sofas in the room. She said she couldn’t rebook the room since it was in the evening and she couldn’t get the room re-serviced. So needless to say we lost one night’s of points and had to fine another hotel. My husband traveled for his job in the past and so we’ve stayed and tons of hotels. We’ve never had a hotel not at least try to work with us when there was an error with the room, especially when the hotel is partly at fault here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The hotel was sharp and clean and the staff were excellent. When I checked in, I found that housekeeping had not cleaned out food left in the refrigerator by the previous occupant. I went to the front desk to make sure that the room was empty and if so, to have housekeeping clean the refrigerator out. The room was empty, but they moved me to another room. The manager was extremely apologetic, which I appreciated and I was not upset at all...as evidenced by this review. I liked the staff and the facility and recommended it to all. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Marriott Ambassador who stayed there 2/14: - Staff less than helpful - Market is bare - no luggage carts available - room was unclean (see photo of big dead roach) - hotel room contained about half of the towels I would have expected (see photo) - No HBO - Large convention tax - high parking fee for insecure outdoor parking - waited for 10 minutes to check in at 6:30 p TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
