Great staff, clean hotel

There for several weeks over the winter. One of the better Residence Inns I have stayed at. Very good breakfast options, nice pool. Professional staff. Very clean. Grocery options within a 10 minute walk. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Incompetent staff member at arrival in the evening

I wanted to put poor for the whole of my stay, but this rating does not represent the Marriott Residence Inn. Unfortunately, when I arrived your employee at reception made me angry. 1- He asked me for my name which I spelled, and he asked me again, I then gave him my driver’s license and my credit card. For almost 30 seconds he was saying my name wrongly without saying Mister while holding my driver’s license with one hand and bending it which I did not appreciate at all. 2- After finally understanding my name and not recognizing my status with Marriott at all, he looked at me and told me that I had chosen check-in by the application, I didn't understand anything of what he meant, and I replied that I forgot. I just booked online with my BonVoy account. 3- There he started wanting to chat while asking me if I was fine because he saw that I was upset, I replied that No and instead of finishing his work he wanted to know the reason. I told him politely to please finish my check-in because I was tired. 4- He gave me two keys for room 2208, there I went up with my luggage, grandchildren and my wife to find that the keys cannot open the door. I went back downstairs, and his colleague asked me again all the information to tell me at the end that this room was occupied and that mine was 2332. It really pissed me off, I wanted to ask a manager, but I figured if I got angry I might say anything and I swallowed the pill without flinching. The person who gave me the keys apologized and offered me something from your shop that I declined. The last thing is the staff at your breakfast who is rude to customers, I saw one of your agents ignore and speak in an authoritarian tone to a customer. Even my little girl who is 10 said to me "this lady is mean." I always stayed at Marriott hotels, and this is the first time I’ve seen staff like this at the front desk and restaurant. There you go, I told you everything, I know you like to listen to improve your service. I don't think this unfortunate coincidence reflects what Marriott is; because at the end of the day and to conclude on a positive note, I had a nice, clean room with everything I needed, a generous breakfast and an ideal location and that is the Marriott trademark. Everything works fine

Spacious rooms in Montreal. Not a new building, but everything works. Noisy A/C - Heaters. Rooms are clean and Breakfast place is enough. Friendly staff during day and night. A Courtyard hotel is next door and they are connected. A nice restaurant in the other hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This time around ...

We stayed here January 28/20 prior to vacation in the south, for which I wrote a good review. Upon returning from our vacation February 8/20 we were staying the night again. I called the hotel from the airport at 7:30 p.m. to ask for a pick up. First the gentleman had a little difficulty finding my reservation. Once he did, I was told to 'hold on', he came back saying it would be 30 minutes, and he hung up on me! Ok, I guess we just missed the shuttle. At 8:15 p.m., and after a few other hotel shuttles coming around for the 2nd time, I called again. I was told to 'hang on', he comes back and says the shuttle would be there in 10 minutes; he got stuck, and he hangs up on me again! Not a thank you, good buy ...nothing. Now it had snowed significantly, but other shuttles (of the same route) had no issues. So, after traveling all day, we waited 65 minutes for the hotel shuttle to come get us (and other customers). When we stayed prior to our vacation, we had to pay for a taxi because the hotel shuttle didn't start until 4:30 a.m. Our flight was at 6:45 a.m., and we did not have access to the inclusive breakfast either which started at 6-6:30 (but we knew we wouldn't). The wonderful gentleman at the front desk that evening (around 5 p.m.), offered us a higher floor room. Very disappointed in front desk 'attitude' this time around. After waiting so long, no offer of go have a drink in the bar on us, or anything. Here's your key, breakfast starts at 6-6:30 a.m. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast. Coffee, hot chocolate, juice, cereal, hot eggs, make your own waffles, toast, muffins, fresh fruit, yogurt, make a fajita ....fantastic. Friendly staff, too! So, we enjoyed the beautiful, comfortable, clean, fully equipped rooms with kitchens, the breakfast, but not the extensive wait on the shuttle, or the front desk staff that night. All that being said, I would still stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

BRAND NEW?

Seems like this hotel is brand new (or very close). I only stayed overnight but it was spotless, modern, and well-appointed. Easy highway access, lots of parking, and a solid breakfast rounded out an excellent stay. Highly recommended - I would definitely stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
