Marriott at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Covid times

May 18th, 2020

Grateful to the Marriott for being open, it is a great resource. Skeleton staff but they are doing their best (and wearing masks!). You can't easily go out and get a coffee, nothing nearby, so the terrible quality of the coffee (and coffee maker) provided in the rooms is a wasted opportunity. There is no proper breakfast but from 7 to 9 am you get a bag with yogurt, bagel and cream cheese. There was no coffee left by the time I got there. If you come, and the rooms are very nice, bring your own coffee and filters. There are no coffee shops nearby (nearest is further than a mile). Bottled water would also be useful. Please note that gym and pool are closed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Staff not wearing masks or gloves

May 18th, 2020

I’m here for an appointment at the Mayo Clinic and this hotel is next door. Obviously people staying here would be more frail so the fact that staff have no masks or gloves on are inexplicable and a disgrace. When I checked in yesterday afternoon and then again this morning when I was at the counter it was the same. I couldn’t believe it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Among the best Residence Inns around

Mar 6th, 2020

Came to Phoenix for business and decided to stay here this time vs the Sheraton Oasis or Westin Kierland - all of which are great hotels. This Residence Inn (was expensive) but was very well appointed with a very big lobby, free shuttle, great grounds (and walking/jogging path), a nice enough gym and swimming pool, nice breakfast daily, free evening happy hour, and most importantly (which goes without saying) a very large and comfortable room. The pillows were great, and bedding was comfortable. As a business traveler, I was pleased with the iron and ironing board, huge bathroom, functioning shower, and nice operational thermostat to keep the room comfortable. Everything was perfect. Very comfortable, well equipped

Mar 5th, 2020

Came for a conference at Mayo Clinic. Very convenient. Clean, staff friendly, hoy breakfast and full kitchen and fridge in room. Would’ve cooked if staying longer. Allowed early check in. Water, coffee and tea in the lobby complimentary at all times. Nice pool, jacuzzi would’ve been nice. Lots of shopping and complimentary shuttle within 2 miles. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great well run Marriott

Mar 3rd, 2020

We love this Res Inn. It is beside Mayo Hospital in a really nice location with a nice Mayo hiking path around it. Rooms are nice, clean and comfortable. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Manager provides dinner several nights a week - hamburgers, chips, drinks. Great week run hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
