A fine stay but unreasonable parking fees and poor customer service

The one-bedroom suite was a nice accommodation for a 9-day stay, but when the hotel charges $50 per day for parking, it can sour the experience. I called the hotel after my stay to request a courtesy waiver or reduction of the parking fee, but they refused, stating that they (conveniently) outsourced parking to a third party and had no control over the price. In response, I asked the hotel if there is anything that they could do (i.e., an award of loyalty points or a reduction of some charges that were in their power to control) to soften the blow from the nearly $500 in parking that I paid. They said no. A bit frustrating as I got the feeling they do not value any loyalty. Perhaps this was isolated to this particular hotel employee? TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent Service

the lobby staff, kitchen staff, and even valet staff. they were all so polite, helpful, courteous, and very respectful. Forgot most of the front desk names, but they greeted me every time i entered the lobby. The kitchen , Rene and Paty, were always so cheerful and nice to chat with. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bad experience

We were extremely unhappy with our stay at your Residence inn in the Gas Lamp District. We stayed 6 days and had 3 rooms. I understand there are changes for Covid-19. But 6 days without cleaning our room was unacceptable at the regular rate we paid. We requested before arrival to have all three rooms together. Not close , not even on the same floor. No pool, no hot breakfast. A paper sack with a banana and muffin and old granola. And a snarl and rolled eyes if you asked for hot coffee and another muffin. You were told to put dirty towels out by door and come to desk for more. I called 3 days in a row and asked would they put them by my door. They said no they would have them ready by counter....so I went down and went by the edge and explained I was to pick up my towels. Man at desk said I needed to wait in line. 5 min passed. I went to my room. 2nd attempt same issue. Towels in site. Over and over all the employee had bad attitudes for the remaining stay. Issues over shampoo that never came. Tub that would not hold Water. I left a message for manager to call me. Not surprised he never did. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awesome place

This hotel is in the best area of town. Everything is a few yards away and you can walk to everything in town. This is a great place for a weekend getaway. If you can get a room on the top floor facing the Gaslamp district. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Front desk staff lacks basic hospitality skills

Between travel and work norm, I don’t bother with stupidity. Simply bc you can’t fix it. Front desk girls were unprofessional and untrained. Reached out to facility manager and waiting to hear bk .. I really doubt they have one bc they sure don’t act like it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
