Great Cure for COVID Cabin Fever
Sep 29th, 2020
We booked here for 7 days with an Interval International certificate in order to cure our cabin fever from being confined in our Colorado home. I suppose it was because we were not owners at the resort that we were given a less desirable 1 bedroom unit. The unit itself was fine, other than that it could have used more cooking utensils, as we ate in most evenings rather than going to restaurants. However, as we were in Sundown Circle, a "downhill" cul de sac (Unit 1901) that was backed up to a hill, we had ABSOLUTELY NO cell phone service (although the internet was fine). This was a problem for us as we were in the middle of refinancing two properties and were required to go up to the pool or the Registration Building to make many important phone calls and texts. The "Business Center" was merely an alcove near the front desk and we didn't feel safe being near all the guests who were checking in. We asked each day if we could be moved, but our requests were ignored. We also got some heavy pressure from the Concierge to sign up for a timeshare presentation (we declined) and were told she had made dinner reservations for us at El Rincon, when in fact when we arrived there (early thank goodness)we learned that venue didn't take reservations! Other than the above glitches, we enjoyed the resort and the pool, where social distancing was observed. The unit itself was pleasant--didn't seem dated to us, but that may be because WE are dated! The location is fantastic--easy access to Cottonwood and Jerome, on a nice golf course, and close to HWY 17 if you need to bypass the traffic on the main roads in Sedona. We would return, but would make sure to get a room on the HIGH side of the hill. Sedona itself is delightful. Took some great hikes, golfed, went kayaking, visited the Grand Canyon (2 hr drive), Jerome and Cottonwood, and thrilled to the beautiful scenery. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We had a couple of issues our first day. a few of the dishes were put away with being thoroughly cleaned. The face of the microwave needed to be cleaned. I was disappointed that the fitness room was not available for use. The staff were very friendly and helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
"Another Pleasant Stay"
Sep 8th, 2020
My 16-year old Grandson and I spent five nights here, using the family timeshare. I was able to get my favorite one bedroom unit in my favorite building. It borders the golf course and allows me to get out early in the morning to walk the course before the players get out. Our unit was very clean, and like most Diamond Resort units, can use some updating. The bed is quite comfortable with good linens. Grandson had no complaints about the sleeper sofa. Some outlets in our unit were non-functioning so you have to play around to get your phone/devices to work/charge. Kind of frustrating. Also had to figure out how to get the lamps in the living room to work. It shouldn't be that difficult. There are basic kitchen supplies provided, but don't plan on any major cooking. We were lacking a cookie sheet. We had bought some ready made dough but had to take it home because we couldn't bake them! Also, could have used it to re-heat our leftover pizza! Check in process was easy and we were not "bugged" about timeshare because I was very firm when I said we were using our timeshare for our visit. Disappointed, as the workout room as closed due to COVID. Overall, our stay was great...plenty of towels, We really didn't want any room service so we put our trash outside the door for pickup. If you stay here be sure to have a meal at the Juniper Grill up on the hill. Very enjoyable! This is always my first choice of a place to stay when I come to Sedona. I like that it's in Oak Creek, away from the Uptown traffic, etc. See ya soon! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We had asked to be close, we three one bedroom and 2 studio units, the were all in separate buildings. My one bedroom had more than I needed, A/C and fan was a little noisy. TV in the living room said it was not connected, I did not report it as we weren't in the room very much. The shower was roomy. The decor was dated, cabinets, furniture etc...... We still had a good time. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
