Quiet, comfortable, and very helpful when problem occurred

I stayed here with my adult son as part of a 4 day trip last weekend. Once we left the area he realized he was missing his wallet. Along with an out of state DL, he also had a bit of cash in it as he was shopping for used musical gear. At first we thought we had left it at another location but I went ahead and left a message with this locations lost and found. I received a call the next day stating that housekeeping had found the wallet and gave it to the manager (I believe her name was Lindsey). My son stopped to pick it up on his way back home, thanked Lindsey and left a thank you gift intended for the housekeeper who returned it. This type of service may be expected, but in my experience is not that common, and is a reason we will increase our travel time with Marriot propoerties. Big thank you to Lindsey and her team!! It Not what it used to be

We Arrived for a 2 night stay to find a front door/street and Lobby under construction.. things were Tacky The Staff were congenial and seemed to be trying their very beset but the facility was OLD . Hallways looked recently recarpeted and that was a help but furniture in the rooms was scuffled and dark wood. Air conditioner rattled all night.. Shower head was so restricted by water saver it was hard to feel rinsed. Amenities were not very good.. shampoo bottle was made of such a stiff plastic you could not get shampoo out of it.. Anti was hardly enough for 1 person 1 shampoo.. we were two people for two night.. NO maid service Had to ask for clean towels. The space between the toilet and the open bathroom door was inches so you had to wiggle around to open the door. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Horrific Customer Service And Attitude

A knock at the door at 9am by a maintenance person asking if we had a leak in our room. We told him no. He left nothing else was said. Soon our cold water was off. We assumed they shut the cold water line to fix whatever leak was being addressed. Four hours later we returned to the room and now we had no hot or cold water We called the guest service bottom and it didn’t work. Front desk button didn’t work and finally after dialing 0 some rude woman answered and scolded me for waiting so long to report the problem. REALLY!!!! No phone call or message in the room by staff, no note under the door. No resolution. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don't come here for the service, price or amenities. Poorly run terrible service. But it is the most convenient for Mayo clinic. Restaurant closed, concierge lounge mostly closed. Housekeeping on request only. Barely maintained. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Proximity to Mayo a Plus

We stayed there 9 days due to my wife's diagnosis and treatment and we loved the proximity to the Clinic being 1 block. It is rather worn, the valet is slow, check in staff can be aloof, the bar is closed due to COVID, the restaurant is closed due to COVID and sometimes it is a ghost town. You have to expressly request maid service but I liked that in that you dont have worry about maids pawing through your belongings if you dont ask for service. If you are driving here, WARNING, the streets all around the downtown are torn up for construction and you cannot trust your GPS to get to the Marriott. Follow the signs to the valet which can be hard through all the construction. The subway is nice but all of the food outlets are closed on the weekend. This place closed up for the weekend and the only restaurant is Chesters which is 200 feet way. I hope check out will be good tomorrow and I know we must be back soon for chemo so we will probably stay here again. I am trying to talk the wife into the Hilton Garden Inn or the Doubletree but she wants to be close to Mayo. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
