Staff was rude, manager was rude The hallway was hot and stank with this strong smell like spices but there was no breaofreast that was promise. The room was nice but blankets had holes. The staff aalso try keep the Loby door open but it meant for guest only. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Road trip hotel

Mar 10th, 2020

Good location for downtown Phoenix with free parking. Basic breakfast, including waffles, that you have to take back to your room. Rooms can be a bit noisy because of a busy road, fire station and music venue nearby. Not a spa hotel but perfectly adequate if you are traveling and need somewhere central to stay in Phoenix. First Time, Won't Be the Last

Mar 1st, 2020

Never having even considered a Rodeway Inn, I relied on the reviews here to book this one near Phoenix downtown. The first thing I noticed as we entered was the pleasant smell, which indicated a clean environment. I was a little surprised that the desk clerk was behind glass but I guess that is par for a city. I liked the fact that access to the rooms was from interior only. We had a king room on the second floor that faced the back parking lot. That was perfect because we could not hear the road noise. I did notice the next morning that there was a fire station back there but luckily there were no siren noises. The room itself was very clean. I always check hotel mattresses for bed bugs and was relieved to see that the mattress was completely enclosed with a cover. We didn't need the microwave but were happy to see a good sized refrigerator. The bathroom is small but manageable. It could use some towel bars since their was plenty of room on the walls to install them. Counter space in the bathroom is non-existent but not that big a deal. The only dirt we saw was on the carpeting in the stairwell. As we were leaving a woman was actually washing the sidewalk in front of the building. We will definitely use this hotel for Phoenix events as it is very walkable to major venues. There is a good restaurant across the street too - State 48 Brewery. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Sunday Night Stay For Concert

Jan 27th, 2020

Clean room, courteous staff, and excellent value. No hassle check-in and easy to find. Great location for concerts at Van Buren (across the street) and exploring downtown Phoenix. We had a balcony room facing the venue, but noise was minimal. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good for short stay

Dec 21st, 2019

We decided to stay close to the airport, rent a car, and drive to places we wanted to visit in AZ. It's small, but we did not want to spend a lot of money on a place to sleep since we did not stay in the hotel at all during the day. This was a good value for what we needed - a place to shower, sleep, and have breakfast. The room was clean and relatively quiet considering we were downtown and across the street from a bar/restaurant with a band. I was impressed there was food I could eat (I have a gluten intolerance.) Cheerios, fruit, yogurt, choice of two juices, coffee and tea - I was happy with that. Other choices - another type of cereal, danish type pastries, and a waffle maker. All the employees were helpful and pleasant. Thank you! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
