Bed bug infestation

Nov 17th, 2020

Woke up after midnight to find bedbugs swarming around all of the pillows. I notified the front desk (had to call on my cell phone as there was no phone in the room). She was totally unconcerned. I tried insisting that the manager be called which was flat out refused. She didn't even know the manager's name! I was told the manager had to authorize a refund since we had been there more than 30 minutes. Overall a horrible experience. Infestation has been reported to the county health department. Not the best, not the worst

Sep 6th, 2020

Spent a get-away night here, the management was very nice to us, very accommodating for our service dog. However, the bathroom floor was grimy, the baseboards had obviously had extensive water damage, and the walls were thin. The motel is in a great location, lots of food and accessibility to beach, so it was an okay stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This hotel is absolutely disgusting!! I came here from Raleigh with my family because my husband is working for my moms company. Well anyways, I already felt sketchy about being here because when we arrived, there were men waiting outside the main lobby just staring me and my kids down in the car. My husband and I went to go check in and I was getting a terrible vibe from the front desk employees. There were complications with checking in so they apparently were going to “upgrade” us. Well HERE IS WHERE THE SHOW BEGINS!!! My husband drove us back into the side of our hotel room and there were 3 guys posted up just smoking like crazy... watching our every single move. This whole thing lasted about 10 minutes. I was already uncomfortable. We then left to go grab dinner after my husband went ahead and put our stuff in the room. Well we come back, and when we get into the room none of the lights were working, the floor was greasy, and BLOOD was on the sheets. Walls were moldy, beds weren’t made, the bathroom had used scissors inside.. and to top of this, the AC wasn’t even working. I took my two kids (4 and 1) and grabbed all our stuff and left.. we demanded our money back, which they did, but then wanted to double charge. This is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS. While we were demanding our refund, we heard the lady in front of us complaining that there was a cockroach in her bed sheets when she was laying down.. this place needs to be shut down, I will be contacting DHEC about this place next week. Absolutely terrible. Would not recommend at ALL. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Renovate The Rodeway

Aug 24th, 2019

The Rodeway Inn suffered significant damage from hurricane Florence last September and still has many rooms unavailable to rent. Our room was on the 1st floor and had a some water damange to the luxury vinyl flooring and the bathroom ceiling needed repairing. The walls were fine as was the marble sink area, TV, and the king bed was very good. With a little work the room could easily move from the 2/poor range to the 3/average range. Choice needs to step in and get the property back up to speed, including the pool that was closed. In a good area of town, but only a minimal breakfast served, fortunately it was $120 less a night than the Wyndham and Holiday Inn across the street. The front desk and other employees we came across were fine, but I would not stay here again, unless the property is renovated. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I was so disgusted with the place I immediately checked out and drove 3 hours back home. Ceiling falling in from water damage, smelled like mold, walls paper thin so I could hear every word of the drug dealers next door. Parking lot flooded. I understand you get what you pay for but I’ve stayed in WAYYYY nicer places for $80. Didn’t even think about taking pictures and wish I would have. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
