Terrible Smell

Jun 12th, 2020

Do NOT stay here. The entire hotel stinks and is dirty. There was trash under one of our beds from a previous occupant. The hallways smell like an ashtray and it seeps into your room. The decor is from a 1970’s yard sale. The elevator has a different terrible smell and the floor was always sticky. This place is a total dump. The ac unit is also old and turns off and on every 2 minutes. I wore my covid mask with hand sanitizer on it just us a to try and nullify the smell of the hotel. I would not return if it was for free. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good, bad, ugly

Aug 25th, 2019

I struggled between a 2 and a 3 rating. Look, we knew we were getting a discount hotel, and that it was a little dated. Here’s the good, bad and ugly: Good: Bed was comfortable and clean. Great AC, fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Plenty of clean towels, water pressure and toiletries. Breakfast was pretty decent. Front desk responsive and flexible for issues brought to their attention. Close to the University. It’s kind of historical. Bad: This place is desperate for a renovation. It smells old, and the hallways smell like the aftermath of a frat party. Lots of things didn’t work or need repair. It was the weekend of student check in. Traffic was horrible, and students drive FAST! Ugly: My husband checked in the day before I did - and reported the bathroom had a strong urine scent. Housekeeping was very responsive and did a deep clean, plus put up a new shower curtain which solved the problem. So, we got a good nights sleep, showers and breakfast. On we go. Avoid!! Stayed one night and all I can say is that this place is haunted. First the tv turns itself on, then during the night I had a ghost in my room. Didn’t sleep all night (obviously)! Never believed in this stuff, but now I have to. There is nothing in this hotel that is worth this bad experience...unless you’re a ghost hunter. Would never ever go back here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very comfy bed and great value for money

Jun 22nd, 2019

We stayed here one night after a cancelled flight at DIA with no available rooms nearby. We arrived in the early hours and were checked in quickly and efficiently. The room was spacious and clean with air con that worked well. There was a fridge, sofa and microwave as well as a queen bed which was very comfortable with good pillows. Shower over bath was good. The hotel is dated but retains lots of older features and decor that I found charming. Yes there is a smell of pot, but it is Colorado where it is legal! Staff were friendly. Fantastic value for money and in a good location too. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Old and lots of maintenance issues.

Jun 7th, 2019

Hotel is in a good location, not to bad breakfast and comfortable beds but that’s about it. Hotel is so old and dated. My aircon in my room wasn’t able to be turned off or adjusted to hot or cold. Was offered another room, but it stunk and the air con in that room was so old that I couldn’t even find any controls, so stayed in the original room. Was told the maintenance person doesn’t work Monday and Tuesday. The light switch for the lights between the beds wasn’t able to be switched off so had to remove the globe to be able to sleep. During my morning shower (730am) the hotel decided to check the hotels water pressure. Shower went down to a trickle for the rest of the shower midway through washing my hair. Why test the water pressure during the busiest time of the day? Hotel doesn’t feel very clean, bathroom had cracked tiles and furniture is really old and there is an unpleasant smell throughout the hotel. In need of an upgrade that’s for sure.
