10 year Anniversary

Nov 20th, 2020

Me and my partner are from Los Angeles we stayed four nights here for our 10 year anniversary let me tell you from the moment we checked in until we checked out everyone was great. Staff at Don’s Mai Tai bar were amazing we visited there nightly. Landscape of the hotel is well maintained. I think our favorite part was the private lagoon surprisingly it was us and a family of three they soon left and it was just us there. We enjoyed the lagoon for a good two hours. The room was great with a breathtaking view the beds were so comfy. We are currently planning our next trip back and will most definitely be staying here. Also thank you for the champagne and chocolates 😉. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not worth going

Nov 18th, 2020

First we didnt get the king size bed we paid for. Then we were told the reservation is for december so we showed them proof yet still they blame the third party not themselves even if the proof that the third party was not at fault was shown. Then they said no more room available so they have to change the room to a smaller, non ocean view. To make it worse no Microwave and when they gave us a microwave they didnt give us an extension and when they gave us an extension it was the wrong kind. I have to put the Microwave in the sink to reach the plug. The hotel looks old also. They also made us feel "Lucky" that they gave us a room, the staff has bad attitude. To make things worse there was a party until 1am next to our room. Will never come back here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Mini fridge coffee 1 cup maker and deep sink

Nov 14th, 2020

All room in either building from center new carpet and beds I presume nice also large 42 inch at least tv . I had my doubts about this hotel set up as 4 years prior we stayed here and then I was disappointed nut not now nor this trip. It is a hotel style but with covid the 1 pool is open and adequate in covid time but doubtful in non covid time as inadequate for the volume and now the entire center middle hotel is shut down for remodeling I presume. Do all is well. I also think parking would be an issue in non covid times but now I cannot complain from my full ocean view room. One tip from top 6 th floor you cannot hear the waves crash the lava rock shoreline but on 3th floor beautiful sound to sleep through. On 6th glory in double queen AC was noisy but on 3 rd floor in king room perfect😊 and king has a couch and spacious walk about floor plan. I did not like the double queen bed floor plan as they did not put any mid bed lighting and the two end side bed lighting is only for appearance not function. You can’t read in bed with the low light level. So deep sink to wash cloths by hand if you so desire and amazing cloths dry in 1 1/2 days no where else in islands does this occur ! At the single outdoor restaurant I recommend the corn chowder soup with a bole of rice. Many delicious surprising seafood in this thick soup yummy. You can eat it and every meal and be satisfied Sea turtles at Hilo Richards beach park. ...... see green sand beach writing ✍️ fit more Kona Richards beach turtles pics TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful Vacation & Resort

Nov 14th, 2020

Our first time in HI and we stayed at the Royal Kona Resort. It is situated right on the ocean. It's an older property but renovated nicely and decorated to reflect the history and culture of HI. Our room (not an efficiency) was more than spacious with an ample balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains and ocean. The resort is in walking distance to stores and great restaurants! It has a swimming lagoon on the property for Resort occupants. The staff was hospitable and accommodating. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
