Excellent Service

Jan 19th, 2020

Enrique and Claudia were outstanding at Pancho’s Breakfast. They made us feel welcome and were very friendly every day. Enrique always had a smile on his face. He made menu recommendations and remembered our names and what we wanted to drink every day. Claudia’s omletetes were awesome. We thoroughly enjoyed dining there every morning and they helped make our trip special! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Yet another great location in Mexico!

Jan 19th, 2020

Where do I begin? Such great memories from Dec 30th to Jan 6th!! Starting with the airport shuttle in to the shuttle out, our stay at this resort was simply awesome!! Prior to our departure from Vancouver, Miriam at the travel desk ensured that our pick up shuttle at the airport was on time!(ensure you talk to the very pleasant Miriam for all your transportation needs while at this resort!) The check in process was simple and easy, well greeted by the staff behind the desks and then smoothly transitioned into the very capable hands of Ronnie at the conceirge! Ronnie is a great addition to the RS team! He was very pleasant, warm, always smiling and funny, all at the same time! He ensured we understood everything as regards the resort and its facilities, discount coupons, events for the New Year and also gave us a tour of the RS club membership. We already have a time share in PVR and know what it means to weave through a team of Time share sales sharks!! However, Ronnie and his time share counterpart, Alfredo were not pushy at all and very very respectful of our time and decision. Overall, it's been a great experience here at San Jose del Cabo in general and at the Royal Solaris in particular!! The only downside we experienced was the dining experience at Marco Polo and Pancho's restaurants. The food my wife got served was not what she ordered from the menu but was altered and served without any prior notification. That kinda ruined the dining experience on two nights but from a total experience point of view it was simply great to be at this resort and get pampered and spoilt for 7 nights with the All-inclusive package!! RONNIE TRULY MADE A GREAT DIFFERENCE WITH ALL HIS EFFORTS TO ENSURE THAT WE GOT ALL THE TICKETS AND SEATING TO ALL THE EVENTS!!Truly meticulous and a people's person! Go RC go!! Renovations going on

Jan 19th, 2020

Renovations going on here that closes the restaurants close to the beach. The staff here are excellent..there is a cast system sort of. There is a club class, a member class and the rest of us. Most from Canada are in the “rest of us” category. The chairs around the pool are always full by 9am with towels. You know the difference I. The towel colour too. Green for us Canadians and yellow for the club and members..sad sad sad. Buffet food is mediocre at best Ponchos and Mari Polo are great with 3 different menus so you can go three different days. The hotel is a nice location a little far from Walmart and shopping .. the renovations will be going on for a couple of months so pick your hotel wisely. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

3.5 star average Mexican all inclusive

Jan 18th, 2020

Wife and I stayed here for a week and as my title suggests don't come to this resort expecting a 5 or even 4 star luxury Hyatt type resort. The pros: -The staff for the overwhelming majority are amazing!! 5 STARS!! They bend over backwards to serve you and are so friendly. We were so impressed by the Mexican hospitality. I truly felt welcomed and appreciated as a tourist here. That being said money does seem to talk on this resort so bring some tip money, it is genuinely VERY appreciated. -The location is awesome. 15 minute walk to the local town of San Jose Del Cabo. Cool local restaurants and shopping with an actual authentic Mexican feel. 15 minute walk to a mall which has La Comer which is an upscale Walmart basically for your basic shopping/liquor etc. The mall also has a Starbucks McDonalds etc if you tire of the food which we did by about day 4 or 5. -Free wifi, stocked mini fridge (beer/water/pop) and safe. Some nearby resorts charge for this stuff. -Swim up bar. Not sure if all competitor resorts have these or not but to my wife and I it is a big plus! -Ocean front property. The beach is amazing but the waves are the biggest we have seen! Swimming not recommended for children or weak swimmers. -Didn't help us but they seem to have great programming for children complete with separate area strictly dedicated and reserved for parents with children. Didn't explore the area but could see from our room multiple waterslides and typical children pool amenities. They also have a mascot named Pancho who wanders around greeting all the guests. Now the cons: -Renovations were underway at about half of the pool areas roughly. Lots of drilling hammering etc. Didn't ruin our vacation or anything but wasn't enjoyable. The resort seems to be adding more pergola areas so that will be nice eventually when completed. Speaking with a local he was also frustrated as he said the resort is essentially a ghost town in September so why not do all necessary renos then? -On day 2 of our trip the snack bar next to the pool was shut down for the week and the work on the roof of the adjacent building began. They spent the rest of the week ripping the palapa roof off this building so lots more banging and work. -Rooms and some common spaces need renovations. Pretty out of date all original from late 80's or early 90's I would guess. -The food. We chose this resort as Mexican resorts have a reputation of having good food. That wasn't really the case here. The first couple days the food was average. The breakfast menu didn't change once on our trip. Supper buffet did have themes at times but nothing great. -The drinks were hit and miss. Had some nice blender drinks and others full of ice cubes or way too sweet. All in all a 3.5 star resort in our estimation. We would return if the reviews improve on the food and the rooms/buildings see a major overhaul. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
