Great location for everything!

Aug 13th, 2019

We rented a condo at Runaway Beach Club via an owners website and were delighted with the accommodation. Very spacious condo overlooking the lake, two pools, spa and gym met our needs perfectly after dealing with the crowds all day at the parks! The location is absolutely perfect, 20 mins to Disney, 25 mins to Universal, 15 mins to Gatorland, 5 mins to Old Town Kissimmee, 2 mins to Walmart, could not have been better situated for our needs. The fact that we stayed in a ground floor condo did mean we had a bit of noise from the upstairs but not enough to worry about. My only real criticism was that the resort did not recycle, all waste went into a communal compactor which in the times is not acceptable and I feel this is something that should be addressed. No wonder it's called RUNAWAY! 2 star hotel at a 4 star price

Jul 8th, 2019

Problems from the start! I received confirmation emails w/ details for 9 other people's reservations. Our confirmation voucher was for a 2 bedroom condo when we booked a 3 bedroom. They didn't have any available so 1 person had to sleep in the living room. Gate code was wrong so we had to wait for someone else to enter. I will admit, the area was great. The buildings are very cute & outdoor maintenance was excellent. The old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" applies here! Those are the only good things I can say about this place. Had it been a 2 star hotel at about $100 a night- it would have been exactly what we expected. But this place was over $200 a night w/ an additional $150 resort & cleaning fees for a 3 day stay so we expected much better. I took 52 pictures of all the stained walls, carpets, shower curtains & furniture, broken drawers, dirty tubs & oven, bugs adhered to range hood, missing knobs & towel bars, dented & stained fridge, broken dishes & more! There were 3 TVs w/ 1 remote and the TV's didn't even work. We went to plug 1 in and found an outlet hanging out of the wall with no cover. The mattresses were very old & lumpy and wreaked havoc on our backs. Lots of rust in the tub. There is no office at this hotel so there is no one you can report to. I called the hotel number several times. It rings over 20 times then says leave a message. I left 4 messages & no one ever came by or called back. We left after only 1 day there. Our vacation was ruined! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Overall good stay, but needs improvement

May 26th, 2019

This was an apartment/condo attached to others, with its own entrance. Pros: - good location, took about 20 min to get to Disney entrance (in May), Walmart nearby - mostly quiet, heard baby crying faintly next door - quiet & safe location (gated community) - two bedrooms, two bathrooms - nice kitchen and big family room - pool & whrilpool - big kitchen table --overall very clean and nicely decorated. - Well stocked tableware, dishware, knives - Fridge was large and cold Cons: - one long (indoor) flight of stairs to get to the place (they have a gate if you have little ones) - clothes dryer took forever to dry - the towels in the dryer were not dried so they were smelly by the time we found them - need better cookware in kitchen (nonstick coating was coming off) - couldn't figure how to turn on the external TV speaker - Florida water tastes funny (we bought water at Walmart, but it's very busy at night and with not enough staff) - The beds were on the soft side - ice maker didn't work TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Spring Break

Apr 14th, 2019

This grouping of mostly time share condo/apartments is conveniently located near Disney and not far from Universal. Grounds are nicely maintained and there is a Walmart located a short drive/walk away. We stayed in a 2 bedroom two bath unit that was good for our family. The pool is nice but the indoor basketball court was shut down due to mold. All around not great but certainly not bad. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bad Experience- Runaway away from this place

Mar 9th, 2019

We booked a 15 day 2 bedroom villa from expedia which was $1800 which we were ok with and two days before going I read lots of bad reviews so I checked with Runaway to see if we had a villa and at first they couldn't find out name and then when I have them the reservation number they said they found it. We get their no office a maintenance guy told us to call the number On the paper we had, so I call they told me there was a maintenance problem with the villa I chose and there were no other rooms available and told us we couldn't get out money back, to find another place to stay at. I then called expedia and they called Runaway and for three hours and a half they would call say they got a place to stay and would get back with an address, never calling us back. We would call them, they would say that place is gone they would give us a name of another place we would call them back same thing gone and then they would laugh at the end. These are timeshares that people own and have a timeshare company rent out so unless you rent from the owner don't get this villa. Called my credit card said it probably take 15 days to get my money back but luckily it was back in 2 days. My sister rented a villa but could only get two nights because it was totally booked. We got 2 hotel rooms for the 4 of us for the rest of our vacation but now had to buy lunch and suppers every day which we would have had in the villa. Would never recommend Runaway unless renting from the owner himself and use a credit card so you get the money back TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
