Wonderful stay, staff make you feel very welcome

Oct 23rd, 2018

We had a wonderful stay here in October - the Bar & the Tavern staff go above & beyond to make you feel welcome in particular Leoand & Tsamuika the bar staff. The room are a big space with twin beds, sofa & plenty of cupboards along with TV, fridge & kettle. The bathroom is well equipped & you are provided with bathrobe & slippers. The nightly entertainment is very good & all worth seeing. The day time entertainment is low key, unlike next door at the Apollo Beach. The food is very good & you'll always find something to make you smile. Also the water is provided in a glass container rather than a plastic bottle, which is great. The hotel has very high standards & everywhere is spotless - the cleaners are a real credit to the place. The pool is huge & surrounding area is amazing & as the hotel has sunbeds on the beach there are plenty of them to go round. The spa area is a nice space with a pool, steam room & sauna but is under used as you have to pay 10 euros after your first visit, unless you have an treatment, then you get the next spa session free. The la carte restaurant is situated overlooking the grassed area before the beach & serves a lovely buffet for lunch & la carte meal in the evening along with special nights such as a Greek night - this is a must. Also the hotel provides a weekly cooking session & wine tasting. The hotel has returning visitors since the 10 years that it has been opened, especially German guests who meet up with old pals & have a real good time. Shame that most of them didn't want to speak with us, a few were polite. Faliraki is quiet in October with the shops, bars & restaurants starting to wine down & close for the season. As we were all inclusive we didn't need the facilities of a resort, but if you were not all inclusive you may of struggled. We took advantage of the boat express located next to the hotel to get to Rhodes & Lindos which are must a must to visit along with Symi a truly wonderful island so much character. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Apollo Blue & would go back - this was our thought til we got to the airport... it was a terrible experience, a very strange system where you have to queue twice before you get the departure area which took us 90 minutes to get through, then the flight was 150 minutes late. Now we are not so sure if we would want to experience that again. It a shame as Rhodes is a nice island & the hotel is excellent. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Shared pool - worth it ?

Oct 13th, 2018

Lovely medium sized hotel very well situated in the village of Faliraki and near to all of its cafes, restaurants and bars - something to please everyone. Also close to car rental and ATMs. The hotel reception staff were very welcoming and very helpful as were the majority of staff I encountered during my week long stay. I was staying B&B only so can only comment really on the breakfast and the taverna which I used a couple of times during the day for a light lunch. Food was well presented and in the main very good although rather salty. I would avoid the wine and stick with beer tho. The eating areas were never overcrowed and staff very attentive. Now comes the rub was a suite with a shared pool really worth 195 Euros a night..? No, not in my opinion. This is coloured by the dreadful racket from upstairs with the constant scrapping of furniture and heels on the floor. Also where the rooms are is very close to the bars which by 11pm are in full wing with folks then screaming and shouting down the concrete / tiled corridors which amplifies the sound. Sleeping was a major problem and also why folks need to get up at 6.20 am on holiday I will never understand - unless your going on a magical trip. Aircon is so super efficient I had to turn it off or use a duvet as it quickly made the room freezing. Given its October no real need for aircon at night although it might have blocked some of the noise out lol. The room was very bland with all the basics (kettle provided so a plus point of this). The bed was 2 singles pushed together so the usual ridge in the middle and also very hard and uncomfortable I suspect that the sofa bed will be similar as even sitting on it wasn't exactly comfortable. The rooms are not particularly near the pool bar or taverna so unless you want to keep your own refreshments on hand in the noisy old fridge then you might be better placed at the main pool area which was fantastic. The sun loungers around the main pool are extremely comfortable with plenty to go round and very large umbrellas. I would suggest that unless you are desperate to have a pool for 10 rooms or so instead of sharing a much larger nice pool then save your money your not gaining very much at all. There was also a lovely children's pool - but very few little ones when I went. The beach is literally a stones throw away and I got a voucher for free sunbed for the whole week. The turns in the main were absolutely fantastic and I don't think I heard 'lady in red' once - phew. They had a motown night and an opera night which were fantastic .. Beatles night - ow best forgotten but they tried. The wellness/spa for 40 Euros for a back (think she forget my neck) massage really not worth it and it would be nice if the young ladies smiled and spoke. The spa/gym itself was very nice but clearly underused which surprised me. Not sure why towels had to be collected/returned here when its not anywhere near the pool .. bit of a bind. Always A Great Place To Be

Sep 23rd, 2018

We visit the hotel every year at least once and every time the experience is wonderful. Great people, excellent location and fabulous relaxation - whether by your own private pool, or the main pool or on the nearby sandy beach. This hotel properly understands the importance of guests having space and time to relax and let the organising happen quietly and inconspicuously behind the scenes. Wherever you stay there are great people making your holiday memorable. The high proportion of returners each year tells you all you need to know. Also a fabulous venue for weddings and special gatherings with family and friends. Just one of the best hotels on the island. Visit for yourself and you’ll see! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Absolutely great !!

Aug 30th, 2018

I decided to book this hotel only after reading a lot of good reviews on TripAdvisor and I was not wrong. Two months before my date they sent me a mail asking me if they can do anything to make my stay comfortable. I replied them it was too early. Again a week before I received the same mail again. I have never seen such a care taking hotel anywhere in the world. We reached at 12 noon and the check in time was 2 PM. Pleasantly not only we were given our room immediately but were upgraded to a junior suite with shared private pool. Thanks a lot. The suite was spacious with awesome view of property and Aegean sea.The bathroom was equally good with top class toiletries. The hotel had 3 pools, gym, beach volleyball, pool table, table tennis, playing area for children, spa and a big convention hall. It also had a mini market selling water and other things at very reasonable prices. The buffet breakfast spread at main restaurant was great with live station and so was the the buffet lunch at Taverna Blue in the garden overlooking sea. The pool bar was another great place for drinks anytime of the day. The location was excellent right in the middle of Faliraki on the beach. The hotel guests had free beds on the beach which had all water sport and boat tours facilities. Once you walk about 1oo meters to main road then on both sides there are hundreds of restaurants, bars, night clubs and shopping places with very buzzing atmosphere specially in the evening after 7 till late night in a very safe environment. Every evening there used to be very lively music performances happening in the lawns. The service all over the hotel was very professional and courteous. The reception staff was always very helpful with all information about Rhodes.Special thanks to Jenniffer. On the whole a memorable stay !! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
