Gorgeous hotel with lively atmosphere, great food, and a great reservations manager!
Feb 24th, 2020
We attended a destination wedding here and I was the travel agent designated to manage 50+ rooms for the guests. It was a year in the making and throughout the whole process, I had the pleasure of working with a great reservations coordinator, Carla. She was on top of it all and was quick to make changes/updates to all reservations. Besides having a great reservation contact in place, SLS is such a fun place for adults to get together and have fun. The lobby was lively when we arrived with a DJ playing and a great lobby bar. I love both pools on property (besides having access to the Hyatt Pools) and the Baha Mar complex as a whole is gorgeous. Baha Mar continues to be my go-to for clients in the Bahamas and I am happy to have met some incredible staff to make both my stay and 110+ guests that I was managing a trip that they won't forget. She was an integral part of the process and I look forward to working with Carla again in the future! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Pretty Hotel, Hypocritical Policy, Bring Money

Stayed 8 nights at the SLS and was impressed with the facilities and restaurants, but terribly disappointed in their inability to control smoking in the pool areas. They make a point of using paper straws on the premises but allow cigars and cigarettes to poison guests at the pool area. Children are forced to inhale the fumes of the guests who have no concern for others. Complained to management who was unable to solve the matter. SLS wants families but can't continue to ignore the pleas of guests to move the smoking area to the beach. Room are pretty, restaurants are good and very expensive, and the staff is supreme. Ask a local cabbie for restaurant selections if you're on a budget. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Bad experience at Baha Mar SLS
Feb 20th, 2020
First of all when we checked in they were jack hammering next to the lobby. The staff was OK but we had to wait past the required check-in because they were out of linens. I asked not to be put by the pool as it is very noisy and hence they put our room over the pool with loud music and couldn't change the room. The room is not as nice as the Hyatt Baha Mar and much smaller. I would rate my initial experience as they won't go out of their way to make your stay more pleasant and it is over priced. The bathroom is also weird - it's glass and not very private. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
The Staff Can Make All The Difference
Feb 20th, 2020
Stayed at SLS Bahamar for 6 nights with my wife and two teenage boys - overall beautiful resort but the staff makes all the difference. We had a wonderful experience at the SLS Bungalow pool when Vanessa went out of her way to find us 4 seats together. Vanessa always has a smile on her face and is an asset to this resort - please reward her for great service! The previous day, we had a poor experience when two of the male staff at the same Bungalow pool gave us a hard time when we wanted to sit in the same seats as the day before claiming they were reserved for the cabanas when they are three rows away from the cabanas (if it’s true then change that stupid rule)!! Similarly, we had a great experience with the very nice woman who made our room and brought us extra water bottles. Overall pros of SLS: - Separate bungalow pool reserved for SLS has very comfortable chairs with thick cushions, and private beach area. - You still have access to all Hyatt pools and amenities. Cons of SLS: - Our superior double queen room was on the side of the water park construction so noisy in the morning. - Loud music from Privilege pool which seems to be only for night time parties. - Room overall has very little storage space, and bathroom was tiny and had no tub just shower. Bathroom has a curtain divider so no door for “noise privacy”. Overall great resort, just a shame that rooms don’t have more storage, bathrooms don’t have doors and tubs and some of the staff are great while others are not. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Check in not happening

When was the last time you arrived 4pm to a hotel and still couldn’t get into your room at 5:45? After traveling all day it’s a drag. Credit card got charged at 4, otherwise I’d walk. Nice person behind the counter but I’d prefer mean and competent. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
