Beautiful Property In The Sacramento Suburbs

Jul 8th, 2020

We stayed here in mid March. We had just driven all the way to LA from BC only to turn right back home due to Covid, we stayed here on our way home and spent the day in Sacramento so we could at least say we did something in California other than drive! The hotel is about 15 minutes from Downtown Sacramento (an amazing city that I don't think gets enough credit for tourism, it's really pleasant!). The property is older but nicely kept with a beautiful outdoor swimming pool and nice common areas. We got upgraded to a huge suite which consisted of a large bedroom with two queen beds and then an absolutely massive living room, the suite was probably at least 1000 sq. feet all in but even just the bedroom was larger than usual so I'm thinking that maybe even the standard rooms are larger than most. We had dinner at the restaurant, Formagi. They had just updated their menu and there was some confusion about it, my daughter has celiac disease and can't eat gluten but they had things labelled gluten free that did have gluten and vice versa! In fairness they were very friendly about figuring it out. The food was pretty decent but the menu was tiny and the drinks were incredibly pricey. We also had breakfast there and it was really good and very reasonable for a hotel restaurant. Keep in mind that there's also a Starbucks in the lobby which was appreciated. I really liked the look of the pool although it was too cold to use it. We'd definitely come back especially in the Summer. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Convenient location

Mar 10th, 2020

We chose this property because of its location. A nice property, with pleasant, friendly staff. What one would expect of a Marriott. Our room was a standard room - nice and well appointed. Food at the restaurant was excellent. More vegan/vegetarian choices would be great - they were limited. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great hotel for business travel. Not much around the area to do, but there is a train station within walking distance so you can explore Sacramento. Nice restaurant & Starbucks in the hotel Friendly staff! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Do not stay there

Oct 25th, 2019

The hotel is very old and outdated, like 1980s old. There was a thick line of dust around the floor trim everywhere and wallpaper falling off. The noise from the road is deafening. The beds are TERRIBLE-springy and noisy when you move. Pillows are terrible. If you want sleep, this is not your place. There is no safe so I had to carry my backpack around for 3 days with computer, jewelry, etc. Honestly, the worst hotel I’ve stay at, ever, including Mexico! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
