Not what I expect

Dec 27th, 2019

A disappointing stay for a Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite member. Requested upgrade with a Suite Upgrade. Never heard anything until just before our stay. Was told at check in that the suites were being renovated. Why was I not informed of this months ago? I doubt that they just decided to do the work. Was told the Concierge Lounge was closed and given a $5 voucher for snacks and breakfast buffet. At check in I was also told that they would Comp my valet parking but did charge me. Discussed with front desk and was told we “never comp” parking. Like I made it up. Staff was ok, nothing to write home about. I may sound like a disgruntled guest but truly am a loyal Marriott guy. Will be back in town in a couple days but cancelled my reservation for this location for another. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Downtown Location

Dec 15th, 2019

The City Center Marriott is located adjacent to the City Creek Mall, open space a great restaurants. We were in the area over Thanksgiving weekend and there were a lot of people and families in town. The staff was super busy, but friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very comfortable and clean and well appointed. We had a room on a high floor and views of Gallivan Center and the ice rink. The holiday lights were on and the snow fell while we watched from the room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Unbelievably wonderful service

Dec 15th, 2019

We gathered 4 of our children and their families together in Salt Lake City to see the Christmas lights and attend some functions together for the holidays. We booked 5 2 bedroom suites at a Marriott close to Temple Square so that we wouldn’t have to use our cars traveling once we gathered together. We arrived at different times in the week and were spread out at different Marriott waiting for everyone to arrive. Our group consisted of 27 people. The Marriott that we had reserved rooms at ended up having some problems and so the managers contacted us and worked with my son to find a place that would accommodate us and our reunion. They went beyond that and compensated us for the rooms and made everything perfect for us in such a delightful considerate way. We will be coming back for years. This Marriott has an outdoor ice skating rink surrounded by beautifully lighted trees. Great food and environment and extremely wonderful managers. Enjoyed every minute of it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good stay overall

Clean, comfortable hotel in a good location. Simple things stopped me from rating 5 stars. No communication between staff about coffee in lobby, hostess didn’t know price of buffet breakfast, phone couldn’t connect to WiFi and front desk claimed ‘it was connected because I could get online’...well you can get online with 5G...Overall, would stay again. Good hotel, noisy due to adjoining rooms

Nov 23rd, 2019

This was a great location where I was easily able to walk around downtown SLC. The hotel itself was really nice. My room was large and the bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were helpful and quick. Room service was fairly quick and the food was decent. My only negative was that I could hear everything in the adjoining room. Those guests had iPhone alarms going off every ten minutes from 3 am to 5 am, so it wasn't a great night's sleep. If I were to stay again, I would see if I could get a non-adjoining room. Also, I received an ADA-compliant room, so the shower was only a handheld, which was a bit of a pain. I didn't notice it initially and so did not try and move. If I got a good room in this hotel, I'd stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
