Brunch with a view

Sep 15th, 2019

This was the first time I had the brunch at the Samoset resort. I’ve heard great things about the brunch and I have to say it’s all true. There is a wonderful selection from omelettes to prime rib. Don’t forget to save room for dessert! We had an excellent server every time we went up to get more food we would come back and the dirty plates have been removed. She also checked about more coffee or drinks. Included in the price was either a glass of champagne or mimosa. For senior citizens they only charge $23 plus tax. I think that’s an excellent deal for what they offer! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Never disappoints

Other fabulous stay at the Samoset. Room was great with great views (even though it was a "partial sea view). Service was great. Great gym area . Restaurant was wonderful. Fire pit overlooking the gold course and the sea was spectacular. The only place to stay in the area! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Family stay at the Samoset

Sep 13th, 2019

The family suite we stayed in was newly renovated, and very spacious. There was a nice kitchen area, large bathroom, large bedroom with comfortable beds. This was the nicest hotel room we have ever stayed in. The patio area was large with a great view of the ocean and pool. The staff and guests were all friendly. The pools were both heated and there were a bunch of activities for kids that were offered including making Whoopie pies outside and making s’mores at the fire in the evening. This is a wonderful place for families to vacation. It’s close to down town Rockland and not far from down town Camden. We had fun walking out to the light house as well. We will be back next year! Samoset - a Wonderful Maine spot for Golfers and more

Sep 11th, 2019

We visited Samoset again recently...a group 4 of couples, all golfers. We have always enjoyed the resort and love the golf course, with its numerous water-view holes. Our one minor complaint in the past is that we felt the rooms needed updating...we always ask for the same room. To our delight our room had been renovated! Our group enjoyed drinks and apps, and the wonderful breakfast buffet (with blueberry pancakes, of course). While the rates keep inching up each year they do at all good places...and the value has remained strong. Highly recommend, particularly for golfers! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Poorly managed

Sep 9th, 2019

This hotel/resort is poorly managed. The assistant general manager, Julie, calls me 4 days after I booked online to say that the room I booked "that afternoon" is not available, blaming the integration with the reservation system. Clearly she is misinformed because not only I booked much earlier but also received the reminder email 2 days later. She goes on to say that the room she picked for us was cheaper as if we should be happy about that. We picked the original room for a reason and they failed to deliver. No apologies, no welcome bouquet, a bottle of wine, nothing, take it or leave it attitude. There was a huge wedding reception and they probably gave our room to the bride and groom. We could not cancel because we were going there with another family. On another day, we experienced an issue, this time with the front line manager, whose name was Carie. My son fell on the rocks, while walking to the light house. We asked the receptionist to see the doctor/nurse however, be warned, this resort does not provide any medical assistance, what so ever. The girl at the receptionist was initially trying to be helpful, she brought out iodine and swabs however Carie came out and gave the poor girl a dirty look. She cited something about liability concerns. So here you go. I gave two stars, mainly to recognize the staff and the great food at the restaurant. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
